90's throw back.....Manche build

Probably be artwork for a few more months....lol

Going on 2 years since wheeling, longest I've been out of the woods since I was 19 years old.

This is exactly why I'm building the old ecor's rig and not donating parts off mine to build it. I swore after I built my current junk I built in '07 would have something to wheel at all times.

Now you're just showing off. I couldn't cut those templates out of paper, much less metal. Definitely some of the finest work I've seen.

Finally had a few hours to compete a panel. This one has some functional details. Of course the mesh serves as ventilation for the trans cooler. The cubby hole is designed to be directly behind the factory fuel fill door. It will be used for storage of the tree saver and d-ring. It has its own ventilation and drain ports. Hard to see it in photos, but I also bead rolled the mesh to raise it flush with the surrounding aluminum cut out. The dimpled hole is aligned with the upper shock mount bolt for checking torque or for service, if for some reason the panels and bed are not removed.

Matt

Are the MJ bed sides going back on or no?
Yes, but they will be removed for the 'get stupid' days..and nights. It's a lot of work but I like the finished look of having inner fenders...added benefit is it will look good on naked days and it will be easier clean up on the innards...

Absolutely agree it will look good. I really like the attention to details like this. Forward planning goes a long way and you've done a fantastic job.

@mcutler so what museum is this going to be on display at? Awesome work Matt!
As long as this build has been going, I feel like it's at the Cutler museum already...[emoji481]

Thanks!

Dixie Run!
Yea...I'm feeling the pressure already...

I have the motivation, and there's only a slight amount of items left to purchase, but time is and has not been on my side for this build, for whatever reason.

Sure does look good though! Good jobs and glad to see it coming along so quickly, if I get one panel done in a week that's a success!
That big panel took me about all week, an hour or so at a time (maybe 7 hours total)...the other two I did from 12-4 this morning.

Thanks!

So let me see if I understand this? All this is inner panels and you're gonna cover it up with a truck bed side? That's straight dedication to detail right there. Huge fan!!

Thanks for the support guys!

Yes the updates have been slow last couple weeks. Busiest time of year for my scrap business. Plus, I just flew back from San Diego from visiting my younger brother. He was getting married, and not only asked me to attend, but arranged for me to be the officiant...

I am the oldest of three, 2.5 years between each of us. We lost our parents when I was 18 (42 now), and I'm the patriarch, oldest living Cutler in the tree- according to Darren (middle child and in the pic, the groom). Youngest is Harley on the right.

Back to or regularly scheduled programming...

Finished a couple panels today and began layout of the rear taillight panel. The factory taillights will be functional when the bed is on but these will be lit when the tailgate is removed.

Drivers side rear panels are officially done.

How was California
Good trip, nice to spend time with my now west coast brothers. Only see them both every couple of years since they joined the navy 18 years ago.

I sure hope they're into wheeling/fabrication too. If not yet, they should be! Their is some sick talent running in that bloodline! And no better place to do it.

No. They are/were both nuke submariners. Youngest stayed in 12 years and now works for Seimens in Seattle; middle is going on 19 years, and is also finishing up his 3rd masters degree since being a naval officer. Proud of the bubbas! But I do have a place to stay in San Diego for koh if needed...[emoji6]... Only bout a 1.5 hr drive.

Would be trick to have the light in that angled panel, and a projector/reflector for it behind the factory taillens vs 2 lights.

Yea i thought of that, and would be super trick, but the factory taillights are outside of all the panels, and only a half inch of clearance between the closed tailgate and light panel.
