Most things work for a little while, and you can do just about anything once. I can't see enough to know for sure about his design and I'm not a guy who designs knuckles or any other suspension components for a living, but in my opinion, aluminum is a poor choice for that area. A beefy cast or fabbed knuckle is probably 15lbs and sees some of the highest stresses on the entire vehicle, and is catastrophic if it fails. Aluminum probably saves 5-7 lbs per corner.
