Tonya's new (to her) Tahoe has heated leather seats.First vehicle she's owned w them.She says they are a must have now.

04 was the last time we borrowed money for a car and I plan to keep it that way BUT most people will want something that's less than 10 years old.

I cannot seem to get people to understand this concept. Guy here at work makes more money than I do, but is constantly complaining that hes broke. Him and his wife both drive 2020 model cars, they rent a townhouse, and send their kid to daycare. Cant get him to grasp the idea of ditch the brand new cars, and find an older one thats sub 10k but in good shape and either pay cash or drastically reduce their payments. His thoughts are that he has to have a brand new car with a brand new warranty. We dont have it all figured out, by any stretch. But our only debt is the house and its going to stay that way.

They could save exponentially more lives AND get rid of 90% of the bloat ware safety equipment if they would just install cell.phone jammers in all new cars 😂

covid is over. the delays are over. people are just lazy now.
automakers are not going to lower prices...why would they? the morons keep snatching up every thing that is built.

Bullshit! We just had a truck in the shop for 6 weeks trying to get a part. We have another truck in the shop for a couple weeks trying to get all the parts for it. But yes some people are lazy.

I ordered a new truck about 6 weeks ago. Lead time is 6-8 months.
Ford is building XLT and Lariat Super Duty's currently. My rep said you won't see any Platinum or King Pimp trucks for a while.
The automakers are sticking to limited different models and option packages in an attempt to get more out the door.

Prices won't be lowered as there is still demand, inflation is real and the market dictates the prices listed.

just curious.....do you know exactly why the part is delayed? Could it be that the supplier can't find a non-POS 18 year old kid to pack a box and tape it up?

Yea...I know. There still being demand for trucks that are 20-50% more expensive over the course of 3 years is baffling.

There's no stock options for lawmakers when traffic laws are enforced.
However when a Senator or Congress(person's) family owns a tech company that can develop _____________ product that MUST be in effect by model year 2024, there's money to be made.
Unless of course, they solely care about our well being and safety.

Yes. the first was because there were none on hand in the country. The current one in the shop had several parts on order and took a couple weeks to get most of them but UPS lost one part so now it had to be reordered.

See: Frieghtliner chassis control module for example.
There's a ton of them out there with no front turn/marker lamp on one side. The part has been on galactic backorder for years.

I left out the fun fact that antoher truck broke down last Friday and now we are being told it's the DOC valve or system. That is a $10K repair.

You're still pointing the finger in the wrong place. Employment participation rate among young people is at where it was pre-covid and is continuing to rise.
