Bump man! that hi-lift mount looks alot better than the one you had @ The Gulches....:flipoff2:

The seat looks awesome! And a bargain too :flipoff2:

All kidding aside, that thing is coming together nicely. Now just get the exterior painted so I'm not embarrassed to mall crawl with you.

Find me a rear passenger door with no power options for $50 and I will get it painted. One yard wanted $120 for a door, pull-a-part only has power doors. I'm going to hit a couple more yards this weekend, but so far, the door is the only thing holding up paint.

I picked up the XJ from Rides of Conover today and went straight to opening weekend at Uwharrie National Forest. Surprisingly, the OHV area was less busy than I've ever seen it.

I had Rides do fender trimming and a front seat harness bar.

Trimmed fenders:

x2 painted there for 3 years. still know everyone there.

I finally got all the plastics reinstalled after removing them back in December to Raptor line the interior. Also installed a new headliner and rear sound bar. The interior is almost complete. I still need a head rest and harness bar for the rear, figure out somewhere to mount the onboard air tank, and figure out how to mount the rear cargo light now that I have a sound bar.

I stopped by the Maaco in Matthews earlier this week. All I can say is wow. Completely different quote and personality from the Maaco in Charlotte. One of the guys that works there has a Xterra painted the same color I'm getting next week. I finally found a door to replace my caved in door. Cost $100, but it's the only one I've been able to find that was all manual and minor body damage. I'll be swapping hoods, pulling sliders and swapping the door this weekend in preperation to get painted next week.

is the rear seat limited to the 2-point harness that's visible? is anyone going to be knocking heads against the front seat harness bar or are you going to add padding?

Tint tomorrow. Paint calipers, springs, armor this weekend. Finish OBA this weekend.

I had to cancel my Trail Ready bumper order. After confirming three times they could have the bumpers here by May 1, they took 4 weeks to tell me it was going to take 8 weeks total (middle of May) for the bumpers to arrive. They did provide a full refund, which is appreciated.

I have a super secret bumper builder making me the exact bumpers I want. Once I have dropped my XJ with them, I will announce the name of the builder. I've talked to him twice now and waiting for the bumpers to be built is going to be the longest wait of the build I think.

I'll have the XJ at MarsFab's event this weekend if anyone wants to see it. Special thanks to jweezyferg and TJcrawler97 for the Maaco in Matthews recommendation. Dickie at the Maaco on Covedale in Matthews is your guy if you're looking for a paint job.

Good question. I will be adding padding and will be adding a rear harness bar + headrest bar. When I drop the XJ off for the bumpers, I might swing it by Rides of Conover to have them consider fabbing the rear harness bar. Currently, only my son rides in the rear and he's in a car seat, so the front harness bar isn't a problem for him.

Any recommendations on bar padding is appreciated. I don't even know what I would look for other than pipe insulation foam, which probably has no safe aspects.

First time I've checked out the build thread and man this thang is ba-dass!!
Hate I never got to see it.

But I have to ask...... WTF is a OTK?

Over the knuckle. You buy/make inserts for the knuckles that allow you to drill out the knuckle where the drag link and tie-rod are and flip them over the knuckle. Not sure if this works on a stock y-link as I have WJ knuckles (which removes the y-link).

Here is my setup:

Lookin good man. You've done alot since I saw it up at the Flats for the ECORS race.

I'll see ya at MarsFab Saturday.....

Shirley you can find rollbar padding at a race shop near Charlotte. Online is easy...

Sporting the new-to-me 16x7 alloys wrapped in second hand 235's (I think). Drove 3 hours today to get the wheels and then picked up the tires on the return trip.

Picked up the Rugged Ridge SYE and a tcase rebuild from 4 Wheel Parts today. Tomorrow is going to be a mad rush to complete a number of open projects before dropping it off for bumpers on Friday.
