I'd have filled it with concrete. ,,Along these same lines...
On the way to my house someone built a nice (twice as much as my house) house. The driveway is a little steep and the road frontage by the driveway is a ditch. Well they would always set their trash cans 1-2' off of the white line because it's about the only place without making somewhere or placing the trash cans in the driveway
Well, fast forward a few frustrating oncoming car interactions by me and I started playing a game. The game was called "how far can I launch this trash can". I got good at it. I could hit that fawker and send it a solid 30'.
After about 6 weeks they bought a new trash can and started parking it off the road!
I'd have filled it with concrete. ,,
my grandad did something similar to that years ago. Kept having his mailbox smashed so he had a buddy of his make one that looked like a regular box, except it was made of thick steel. They hit it and it had a nice dent in it, but could you imagine what that felt like.

Did something similar for my old mailbox. I had a 8' piece of 8" steel pipe. I sunk that thing 5' in the ground with 2 80# bags of quickrete around the base and put another 80# bag of sacrete in the pipe. I welded 2 pieces of angle on the top to hold the cheap $10 mailbox. Somebody did hit it and it didnt move.
ANY truck with stacks!!!!!
