Bourbon

That from last night?
They aren't even open until 12:30 here in Charlotte. Used to be 10am

Never really care for Western US whiskeys…but decided to give this one a try. Made in Vegas. First thing I noticed upon opening is a rousing scent of a fresh pack of crayola crayons. Tasted it and I get the the taste of what I remember vegas water tasting like…like you’re licking a diluted ash tray. For $60, do not recommend. But it is 100 proof.

+1 I’ve tried three different smoke wagons and they’ve all been meh.

On the other hand I do see some great juice in Ben’s cabinet and some good but over hyped as well

Gatlinburg had some stuff I've never seen before in person

Gatlinburg had some stuff I've never seen before in person

Geebus…with them gatlinburg prices too. That Willett pot still was a $35 bottle not long ago…$50-60 these days when I see it. And I’m not sure if I’ve got ‘back in my day’ age, or if stuff is still bonkers from the vid/stimmy checks. Edit…but I have been wanting to try that old st Nick, but haven’t been able to bring my self to dropping the coin to try it and haven’t been anywhere that stocks their bar with it.

That 82nd shit is trash. A bunch of guys I worked with bought it cause “82nd”. They chipped in on an extra bottle to open and share and it didn’t even get finished and this was a group of knuckle draggers lol. All the rat are just shelf ornaments.

Went to the store Tuesday to get some. In conversation with the clerk I found out why I never see Buffalo Trace on the shelf. She pulled one from the back for me. Ended up with two.
I’ve heard good things about that early times. Let me know how it is

I was hesitant when the girl recommended it. Then after my second encounter and her getting me the Trace from the back. I’ll consult her again. It’s good. Of course idk what I’m doing here. My go to is Wild Turkey 101.

Early times is pretty for the price. Sub $25 typically. Just finishing up four roses small batch select.
Also been sipping on Evan Williams Single barrel, $32 if you can find it.
I keep seeing the 4 roses here. Will have to check out the Evan Williams. Pretty sure I saw that one too.

Single barrel or single barrel select on the Four roses. I like the single barrel Evan Wliams but that is hard to find. 1883 is ok for mixers.

Been a while since I saw Remus on ABC shelves. As I remembered it was a solid mixer…my opinion remains the same. Not bad for $30. Clyde still sits as my best all around at $35…I’ll drink it straight, I’ll mix it, cook with it, etc. I’m getting worried it’s gonna go the way of Blantons…getting tougher to find and the secondary prices are increasing.

I’m with ya. I like Clyde Mays but I see it everywhere still

Locally, used to sit 10-15 bottles deep…now I’m lucky to see 3 on the shelves at the ‘big store’ in town. Might just be supply chain issues, but I’m stocking up, regardless.

If you like Weller 12 year, you will like Early Times.
It’s good juice! And it’s a liter… so more to love for $25
