So the driver side is done, Got to build the passenger side tomorrow evening, and bolt them up.

Finished both sliders

Well I got both the sliders done last night.

After I built the first one the second one wasn't near as tough. Still there is a ton of work that goes into building parts, Makes you respect the saying "Built not Bought" a little more. I enjoy building my parts, But its not for every one.

Same as the first one, I started by extending the material that I got that was just right on the bent piece, Just wanted to extend it to the edge of the wheel wells. Then I worked on the tube. I have to say that with the amount of welding I am doing, Its great practice. There starting to look decent

I will bolt the passenger side up this evening, That should give the paint a while to harden. Then clean up the ton of metal shavings that covers my garage, before the family returns Friday.

nice sliders!! Ive been wanting to add some tube to mine for a long time now. Keep up the good work!!

Great Job Mike. I really like how it turned out.
One word of warning. you not only created a working slider, but you also created a step. With the nice slick paint job, and a muddy wet boot, someone will surely step, pull slide, and maybe even hurt them self getting in. Traction tape works good, until it's gets muddy. A small piece of expanded metal tacked right on top of it will really help keep from you sliding off and stretching muscles you forgot you had.

Looking awesome man

Here is my Idea to tie them in solid. I was considering adding tube to the bottom But I didn't want to add something to get hung up. So here is the Idea

ai298.photobucket.com_albums_mm279_burrellsjeep_Tiein_1.jpg

The bottom of the A and B pillars are tied to the frame. The B pillar mount will have the be angled, this should also help by connecting the A and B pillars together front to rear.

Mike hes right on the grip tape.Take it from an old sk8er.Talk with Justin; He or I can find you some grate or something to eliminate that problem. You know I got connections too with other companies.Call me and let me know the length you need and we'll see what we can find.

Jeep did great at the flats, I was real impressed with how well it faired in the RTI comp. The only issue I had was with the Ford Tarus electric fan I am running, It quit on me about mid day in 100 degree weather. I found the metal part on the fan was loose and when pulled back the fan would run, So to start I wedged it with some card board until I could get back to camp. Once back I was able to wedge some metal from a beer pop top in the crack to hold it tight :D, I then applied some duct tape to keep the pop tops in place. She ran like a champ the rest of the day. I hit the trails hard to see if it would break loose again, so far so good.

So I am in the market for a fan if anyone has one laying around. I am going to run like it is for the toy run, I just don't think I can hook up with another before then.

when he asked for duct tape for a fan i thought, maybe he has a converter for the kids to have a fan, didnt expect it too be rig repair

Just got in from Mtn City Yesterday. Had a great time and really enjoyed riding with everyone.

The jeep did everything I tried with it, So I couldn't ask for anything else. I came real close to floping it on "Little Telico", well I got it over enough to hit the door, and add a few more scars to the sliders.

At some point I managed to dent the shit out of my 8.8 diff cover, Time to Call Mud and get a 3/8s one :D
