I took the "some of you" as someone on here. That's what made me question it. Why else would he say that on this board? I get the interweb jackasses, but not here.

Plan for the worst, hope for the best. Contingencies and recovery plans are the key. Sounds like you rebounded rapidly, and once the truck is assessed and the bill is paid…this will merely be a detour.

Just because someone tells you something is going to happen, does NOT mean they HOPE it happens to you. In fact, quite the opposite, they actually care, and are trying to help you avoid or remedy the situation. I don't think there is a single person here who has any ill will or wishes any misfortune on you @77GreenMachine, and if there is, I haven't seen it (short of some good ol internet ribbing that I'd expect from this bunch). It sucks that your truck broke, but I'm glad to see you got things worked out. If you need a place to stay and/or work on things near Charlotte, you've got my number.
 
We are down but not out, we are in good spirits and safely heading east. That is all that matters.

I don’t know if this journey is over, paused, or what just yet.

I have zero regrets. Even this very scenario has been a learning experience and we met incredible people and overcame so much. I couldn’t do it without my awesome wife with me helping the whole way!

Keep it up man. Yall are doing great, and know that many out here are cheering and admiring what you are doing.

I know you are likely just wanting to get home, and figure the truck out, but I would say to keep on with your plans in TN, if you can afford it. Keep living with no regrets, just like what got you on this journey.

We put in some good trouble free miles today. The dogs are even tired.

It’s been a long time since we’ve been this exhausted, mentally, physically and emotionally. We are crashing at a Cracker Barrel for the night then hit the last stretch in the morning!

Also, as I laid down this was what popped up on my phone. How appropriate, cause that’s exactly how I have felt about all of this. Even before I picked up my phone I was thinking how I blessed I am to be laying down in my own, familiar bed, like any other night. What a blessing.

Really well actually! I’m blown away. The 6 speed is nice cause it can drop back a gear without screaming and if I need even more I drop back another gear with the buttons and it just rolls on.
It’s way quieter than my truck and far more comfortable.

I’d love to find something like this in a crew cab with a flat bed. I’d def switch

Very interested to find out what actually happened. That said, if you're trying to source a motor, let me know. I know people and will also keep an eye out. Hell, I'll even help swap the motor. I aint skeered!
