So I mean really the question is, is MIL and the family loaded? Is there a better long-term game here?
The fact they are basically looking for a gigolo escort for a grand suggests they don't mind blowing cash, but aren't used to going top dollar.
We all know @UTfball68 is doing the math on it.

I mean...yes...but no...not enough for two full days. For a grand, best I can do is a rehearsal dinner.

Some new land owners have been debating on what Heavy Equipment to buy. Here's a Dozer I'd buy, if I had a place to play with it, & occasional use for.
Charlotte CL. Statesville add, 1947 Cat D4 dozer, $5200. Looks decent & it stays under a shed. A decent Skid Steer, would be more useful, but also Cost a lot More. You guys will have to look up the ad if interested; I'm lazy! lol

That’ll be a pony motor diesel?
 
Haven't thought about that. I once worked where they had a D7, with pony motor. It wasn't as old as a Straight D7, I operated, was, & the older straight drive, had an electric motor. There were probably several years it could be ordered either way.

You can do an air starter on some of those if it’s easier. If it makes air cool, if not a porta tank can do it.
 
Basically the pony motor spins the diesel til it gets warm, then you turn on the fuel and turn off the compression release til the diesel starts right? I have seen them started but it’s been a long time.
