CTB Harlan pics

All I can say about this trip is “Wow”. We covered a ton of ground in the two and a half days we wheeled and it was great. I hope everyone made it home safe and without any major issues.
This is what I'd like to do. Get up there with a group that an cover some ground....

We had a blast. Most ground I've covered in a while, would be much easier to cover ground if you stay on the Evart's side. That 30 min plus ride back to camp always sucked.

Thursday we rode Mason Jar and looked at Lion's Den. Friday was Whitetail Crawl, Waterfall where @77GreenMachine dirt napped his rig, Your Turn, and Crawford's Cry. Saturday was the Pinball, Rail Bed, Steel Hill (only a couple did it), Fish Fossil, Lower Rock Garden, Killin' Time, Lower Profanity, Upper Profanity, and then Damnation to finish out the day.

Well, I was too busy having an awesome time and living in the moment and took zero useful pictures. Cecily took a handful so I’ll get those from her and upload when I can.

She's a lazy bum!! I mean look at her!! you shoulda put her to work

The Winston Crew met at Wallburg Food Lion at 6 (6:05 phillip-time) and rolled out.

We arrived in Harlan around noon, stopped to get a few things at wally-world, then get gas at Taco Bell, then onward to the campground to unload.

After @jankoid steering was straightened out, we headed to Lions den to scout. No one had anything for that so it was beer:30 and time for some dinner

The next day Jason led the small tire group straight over to lower rock garden

Ben Covington destroyed a front locker in lower. So I followed him back to camp while the others played a little more. After Ben and I returned, we ran up Killing time and a couple of more trails

Where Jason helped determine a slight issue with my rear drive shaft. Jason removed it, and Josh ran to town

About that time @amcjeepman arrived to save the day

And I was back in action. We had Lasagna that my wife had made Wed night, and settled in for the night.

The next day I led the small tire group into Fish Fossil first

It was about right here when I had bashed my fuel tank skid one too many times, and shoved the fuel pump fittings up into the body (1-1/4" body lift) once too many, and started spewing raw gas. @Nakoma hopped right into action and determined the problem. @Jason W. had some resqtape and Nakoma did his best to patch it. And it worked for 22 feet, where I started leaking like a siv. Nakoma then got me the heck outta dodge spotting me all the way to the exit.... where, if you're on anything 35 and smaller, you better be preparred to winch....as everyone after me NOT in an LJ (and Robbie) found out.

Once I powered out of the exit (without winching :huggy:) I shut her down and ran to help spot...but As I ran up to help Jason and Josh I was already too late. Josh had bounced and pulled a Austin Powers

Once free'd it was Casey's turn. But he didn't hug the wall enough and hit the undercut which prompted his drivers U-joint to spit it's caps. So we hooked him up

My phone ran out of memory at that point  so I couldn't film anything else. But everyone else winched out (except for the LJ's and Robbie) and we headed back. Jason and Josh led me out and back to everts side at a super high rate of speed because I was dumping fuel, and the rest of the small tire group pulled Casey up the massive hill climb out of your turn back to 11 and then 10 to come back and park next to me. At that point Casey and I took Josh Jeep back to camp to grab our tow rigs and come back and load our jeeps. Then we all headed back to camp. Jason cooked steaks, chicken, baked taters and beans, and we feasted like there was no tomorrow. But sadly "tomorrow" was departure day. The Winston crew loaded up at 8, told our goodbyes and convoyed back to the twin city where we chatted all the way home on the CB about how much fun everyone had, and how all the big tire boys have @Jody Treadway envy :D

Thank you guys for letting me tag along. I had a great weekend of wheeling and hanging out!

Had a blast man, really neat to see those Treps work on yours and Pearman's MJ. Think all of us want a set of Treps now. Looking to hit Windrock closer to spring when it's warm enough to run the TJ naked again.

Just wonder if @Joe J. ever found the meth head that stole the EZ-up he was dragging back to camp...

Must have been my EZ up. That carrying bag had all kinds of stains on it when it mysteriously returned to my cabin. I'll run that through a UV sterilizer. Might have body fluids from said meth head on it!

The story of that can only be appreciated in person by those who seen it and will forever be the highlight of the entire trip for me. I don’t believe I have laughed that hard in a long, longggg time. And that’s saying a lot because there were a lot of laughs this trip for sure.
