Earthquake?

I felt it in Durham and my wife felt it in Fuquay. Were both from California and use to them but it was definitely unexpected here.

My first Thought was it was probably not located here and I was right.

Talking to some of our Techs up in Toronto it was felt there as well

now on to the hurricane :bounce2:

I was felt pretty well up here in MaryLand.
We lost cell service for awhile.

I happened to be driving at the time, didn't even notice. Got where I was going and people were freaking out.
We have shit blowing up and shaking buildings here on post all the time, doubt I would have even thought twice about it.

the news said the effects could be felt as far south as atlanta.

well...im in atlanta. Nada.

Felt it in Boston. Up here for the week. Coworkers in Raleigh felt it on NC States campus. Rattling projectors and stuff. Nothing too bad although since we have heavy machinery in the basement they just thought someone was getting a little ambitious with the looms since they are prone to shake the building if they aren't balanced properly

Ground floor of a 5 story in downtown Winston

Felt like a roller was outside with a paving crew. Went to check and saw nothing...then my FB blew the heck up with Earthquake and doom status' :shaking:

I was at the chopper shop in Mocksville, doing some TIG work under my dark welding helmet.... Needless to say I told whoever was shaking to table to stop and when they didn't I looked up and no one was around:lol::Rockon:

felt it in Boone, shook the building I was in enough to cause the projectors to shake up a bit, not really a big deal here.

I didnt feel it, wife did though. I was working on a house that sits on stilts near a lake. I saw all the geese fly off, thought it was wierd. dont know if thats why they flew or not, but they were back in just a minute. Wife said our house shook like hell.

Nothing in black mountain

We felt it all the way down in Mount Holly. My first thought was that another train was derailing infront of our building.

In Asheville my chain was rolling slightly back and forth.

A train will rattle the shop sometimes with a heavy load, also a quarry within a few hundred yards.

A quick double check and paper was moving on the walls. Thought I was loosing it. Still didn't hear a train. Looked at my pen holder and the pens were swaying.

Woke me out of a sound sleep. Thought my house was going to shake off the foundation. Not the first time I have felt an earthquake here in Winston Salem.
