finally my XJ to keep for good, innovative

I don't remember his name. I didn't actually know him. But I do remember the impact his death had on this forum.

Yes it was Gabe.. I referenced it in the old build thread and the op blew it off as if his design was far superior to the engerinered one that took a life due to a failure.... Sad really that it will take someone getting hurt or killed to make this guy realize that some on here do know what's going on.....

I didn't mean any disrespect. I was trying to make a point that if the OP kept up he was going to get someone killed.

I'm my opinion the OP is an immature punk that think he knows best.

From what I read about Gabe yes I believe he was a great guy. I wasn't trying to compare these two. Maybe j should have made that more clear. I am sorry if I insulted anyone.

Happy, I never knew Gabe either but I followed what your intent was. I drew no connection to the personal traits of either person, nor did I assume you were referring to their skill levels. The parallel that i believe you were making was that suspension/steering failure has caused death in this (the 4x4 community) family before.

I admit I have added fuel to this thread at the expense of OP, but he's a moron. Ignorant people learn from advice and become educated.

Like dad used to say: "The world went to Hell when they put the stop sign on the side of the school bus. Before that, all the dumb kids got run over."

!!!!WOW!!! you guys call me a looser and yall have filled up 4 pages of shit without me even chiming in but once to give picture of my new arms I made. You guys have no life but to sit here and bash and bashing/bullying gets people killed everyday too. You should ALL be ashamed to call yourselves, 1 grown men, 2 off road enthusiasts, 3 grown men. my highschool wasn't have as bad as you guys and well.......enough, loosers

and FYI cardudenc, I one, told him off road use only, 2 told him to be weary of track bar if used on the street and to upgrade it if he was going to do any driving or crazy wheeling with it, and 3, he split the frame in several places because he's wheeled the shit out of it for almost 2 years that he's had it. he's called me at least 3 times stuck and asking how to fix an axle front and rear so remember that thing was built for show not wheeling and driving. my "fab" skills are what they are when I don't have much to work with but never has gotten me in any danger. I can actually fab/weld make brackets/arms/mounts just as good as any when I have the proper steel plating and welder to do it. if those new control arm mounts aren't good enough for you guys, than suck it up and live with it. to anyone on here, you worry about your builds and I'll worry about mine. Those TJ upper and lower arms actually made a huge improvement on ride quality and flex and is a perfect upgrade for any XJ owner.

and I am sorry for those who are at a loss with (Gabe) or others in this sport but ya'll need to quit using that as your crutch of why you talk so much shit and why u put everyone elses builds down so much. I've made myself clear that I too have lost friends from this hobby, but never do I stand behind their loss as a reason to be an ass. I don't have to explain myself in great detail but have posted before, im not an idiot and wasn't born yesterday. I check my jeep trackbar, ujoints, ball joints, driveshafts, etc.. religiously before I ever go anywhere, even a mile up the road to my fishing hole just to be safe and always have someone turn wheels back and forth to check proper steering and track bar play because unlike others, upgraded or stock I don't rely on these parts to "stay" working properly weather it cost a buck or 1000 bucks. even my wife always telling me I tinker with my jeep way too much on the same stuff and constantly looking it over. most people have lost their lives in this sport due to operator malfunction or operator negligence and 1 out of 100K to freak accident but most stories I've read across, they could've probably been more responsible on their end to keep up with the condition of their vehicles. SO please stop using someone's death once again to justify your bullying acts of immatureness. thank you

that's 1/4"plate steel welded both sides of each run with extra brace on the back side and those are TJ upper and lower control arms.

Note: There's no bashing in the this post.

Please just stop. STOP what you are doing. Stop and listen to the guys on this forum. At this point you are correct, you are going to receive nothing but criticism on your work. 1 because you fab work and knowledge of fab work is sub par, and 2 because you are unreceptive to suggestions on what you need to be doing. and your statement about being able to fab/weld as good as any is just flat out insulting and laughable.

Just because you use 1/4" plate doesn't mean it's going to be strong. and just because you "braced" it doesn't mean you braced it properly. An 1/8" sheet metal control arm mount could be made stronger than the one you pictured above. Look at your mount hole for your control arm on the mount. Now look at how far above the hole the "brace" is. You're brace is doing nothing for that mount. and you welded to thin stamped sheet metal to top it off.

Now I'll give you this. From what I can see in the picture, you did listen when it came to your control arms. It looks like you made new ones from some sort of tube. I'm hoping it's more than trampoline tube.

They are tj arms as posted, and the brackets are plenty welded on all 4 sides and then some. Im no pro by no means but i have done my share of welding and with my new one, its plenty. Thanks for ur concern though. The mounts arent 100% done but more steel coming to make full boxes soon.

Well, well, well. Ur cool to put my thread under newbi. Way to go team. I wanna be with the cool gang someday! Thanks bros

I agree, you shouldn't be in the newb section. I think they should create a section just for you. Hmm, I don't know.... What would you call it jeepster?

Maybe this should go in the "I piss excellence" thread.....

at the end of the day, ur egos get bigger, ur heads full of expertise and pros attitudes keep growing but at least I enjoy doing what I've always done and nobody has ever been able to take that away from me. I probably enjoy this hobby more than half the people on here just for the simple fact that anything that I do works for me and gets me to my next point and back and always has so i'm not the one complaining or the one with a broke vehicle in my driveway or garage all the time and i'm not so caught up in this social media bull that I lose focus of what this sport is all about so i'll stay with the newbs, at least I know they are looking to start a great hobby and looking for real enthusiast to enjoy it with. You pros can stay in your clicks and i'll stick to mine. sorry to disappoint but I've got nobody to impress on here or anyone to please but myself and my build. Peace and good night!

The more weld passes you put in that small section of unibody the weaker it becomes. The plate is a good start but you need to spread the load across a larger area. The plate should cover the side of the "frame" atleast 4" to the front & rear with plug welding holes in it. That mixed with frame stiffeners would be a good start.
