Frankenstein Street Queen (a.k.a. SpeedBump)

You and jody both. lmao. that precious commodity... Time! ..... Smh :( :shaking:  :poop:

The clutch disc? thats a scary thought if it was rattling when just driving normal (and not shifting). could it be? TOB rattle?

Driving a jeep with one shaft is like a man walking around in hills and a mini skirt it's just wrong.... then again you are in Asheville maybe that's how you like to get down

Finished swapping in the LED headlights for a early AM drive. And I THINK i may have fixed my fuel gauge issue. We will see if I run out of gas.... bahahah

Ive been informed my build thread needs a better title...
If I didn't have steam pouring out my ear canals from the last few hours building a buggy chassis I could probably assist in something clever.

Most busy time of year for me. I snuck about 10 to 20 minutes each day to do something last week. Mostly clean up stuff.

This week my few moments stolen during the day is getting this driveshaft shortened. It's an olivers shaft I believe. Super stought!! Picked it up from a super cool dude I know.

Anywho. Got my measurement transferred to the shaft. I'm really worries about uptravel clearance but nothing I can do until I actually have a front shaft installed. Tonight gunna read up on "how to cut metal like a pro" and also reread "what to do without a band saw". I used some electrical tape for guide lines. And trying to keep the sleeve area towards the Tcase end which has the most space.

My heater arrived.

Tried to lengthen the throw of the brake pedal to see if it would solve my inability to lockup my tires. Not even close. And that 3/8 of rod extension placed that pedal as high as the clutch pedal. No go on that. Got to shorten the rod again. I bought a brand new MBM double diaphragm booster, but the master is a stock CJ/YJ - need to look into doing the Dodge 2500 upgrade. If that doesn't work may need to reconsider my flexible brake lines front to back and go hard line.

Super stoked about this. Thanks Joe! The hinge bolts of course stripped on me so gotta get them drilled out.

snuck out for a few minutes in between calls and demands.

Got it cut. Woot! Now to find a tube that will fit on the inside. The tape for a guide line really helped. Prob should not have gone with black on black... Anywho so the inside ID measures. 1.46875 on the dot. Thats 1/32 shy of 1.5 inches. I tried my 250 wall 1.5 tube and it wont fit. however it does seem easy enough to grind that down a little. On the flip side... my impact socket fits perfectly.... lol.

Got one side of the shaft drilled for welds. I tried to stagger them a little as that's what you do with wood... soooo... haha. Thought maybe that might help?

Doing four for each side. Should be able to at least complete the other side of the shaft today and tonight I can shave this inner piece to fit inside.

Shaved the "slug" and got it so it was uber tight on one side and needing to be pounded in, and only glove tight on the other side for easy Insertion.

I wanna weld it! I wanna weld it! I wanna weld it! :bounce::smokin:

Seeing that beveled seam ready to roll gives me an erection certain to last longer than 4 hours.

picked up two ujoints

walked into autozone... without trying to be rude, i insisted a VIN wasnt needed to pick out a ujoint. smh. on the way out i saw a guy begging a AZ gal to help get his headlights working. ""thanks Dad for teaching me car shit""

This is prob somewhere along the lines of @Jody Treadway thoughts everytime i kept buying or doing something other than the front shaft. lmao.

Ahhah! That's an old Indian trick. It's better when it's cold outside, but, use beer as a tallying system for stuff you gotta get done, write whatever it is on the bottom, slam a beer and turn the can upside down to check it off the list.
That looks like an all nighter to me.
