"Gonna do it right...maybe!!??" Fuller's new XJ build!!!

I wanted to bash the exhaust just bc last damn thing this rig needs is more weight regardless down low up high out the ass, however I'm not because I'm just completely in awe he busted out the 4 link calc and got some numbers right and made changes... mad props your 4 link rear setup looks clean truss is nice have ya cycled axle to full droop and seen if any binding in links tho?? Just thinking out loud but multi hole link mounts like someone has mentioned wouldve made ya life easy dialing it in when done, ready to test and tune! Especially if you made ya own mounts... wouldn't have been much more work! Carry on tho I like it and keep a OPEN MIND to redoing your cage not bc it won't work but bc weight is gonna be a issue regardless if you notice it yet or no, it'll still go and perform, but not as good as it could... or say f it and drop 360 in that bitch and add all the weight ya want!?

Oh and I had the origianl idea of a tail, (already got my Cookie btw) it needs to be on the cb antenna so it moves no questions to that one... gonna do it fuller style do the shit right!! I say go to good will and buy some fake fur coat and make ya a tail that slides over antenna... I win make it happen!

Well good thing I've only got 4" lift and real wide stance.
I doubt your rig is any wider than any other xj with tons on it, and they don't have as much "cage" as you up high.

Hey can somebody confirm does the return fuel line in this Jeep have pressure or no. Factory setup has plastic line going to the rear but then the last 2 ft is rubber with no clamps on it so it would seem that it's not pressurized. I need to know cuz I'm trying to repair a 4-inch section in the middle, thanks

A 1998 XJ is a returnless fuel system. Only has a single line and that line is pressurized.
Dang man I'm stupid, duh it's the dang evap line. Thanks for reminding me.

Well sitting low to the ground figured I better have some protection.. nice trans skid and big tcase...I actually made the big skid bolt on can you believe it

Getting close guys. Steering, driveshafts, brake lines and hydraulic ram mount is all that's left. Woohoo

How many miles are on that front axle. Have you checked the unit bearings on it. Mine came apart on me going down the highway it was pretty hairy. I would hate for it to fail on you in the middle of a trail with big tires adding new stress to old bearings. new timkin ones are on Amazon for $132 each for my d60. I also have a used unit bearing you can have for a spare came off my truck when I replaced both sides it's high mileage but spins freely and no play it's a 98 axle not sure the year on yours or if it'll fit but you're welcome to it.

I plan on replacing them anyway later on but I know right front is good lol, and I will surely take the one for spare.
I gotta pull em off to replace ujoints so I'll really know then. Thanks dude

Are you putting a SYE on it?
No need it only has 4" lift and pinion is set at 8* roughly so it's plenty good for this setup. Once I get twin cases then I'll have to get fancy:D

@marty79 consider saving for bunch of dom... just consider I'd really like to see what crazy ass cage you would come up with if you bent one! I'm sure somebody on here would loan ya bender or help ya in process! Just sayin later on down the road...

Well I might but it won't be Dom. If I do change it I'll go with 1.75 HREW. Soon I will measure every piece of cage and calculate weight. That I'm sure will help steer me in "a" direction lol. Price of steel just went up a lot according to the boss so Def not gonna be Dom but even HREW is pricey. We will see...
(You know me ...anything and everything is possible lol)

When I wheel it the first trip, I will hopefully find some knowledgeable guys to watch it work and articulate and see what they think as far as tipping/stableness/safety and plan accordingly.

So guys need some help here: I'll try and make it understandable
my rear factory front XJ springs as mentioned gave me 3.5ish lift in rear but they are pretty compressed, due to weight as someone mentioned most likely, so it kinda bothers me... a little i guess (dam wow, I used to just send it but now I'm catching myself getting all nitpicky about doing everything as right as I can..moving on.
So these rear TJ springs I just spoke to RC and they are 4" lift springs for the REAR of TJ, not 6" springs as they measure 17.38 unloaded (according to RC the 6" springs measure 18.25 unloaded)
SO it would seem since I'm much heavier than the rear of a TJ that I could use the Rear TJ 4" springs (beef) and it would compress a lot more for added weight which in hopes would net me around 3.5" lift...
Spring rate of these 4" rear TJ coils is 186...don't know how that helps me but i know it's useful for something LOL
(can't believe I'm going through all this look what yall created)

I know my simple solution is get some 3" front XJ springs and call it a day but just trying to see if I can use these...(especially since rear TJ lift springs are not very desired I've noticed so don't want them just going to waste). I'm all about trying it but figure ask some questions and maybe get a heads up on it...
