Got the short course racing itch?...

Just for reference, here's the short course track at Glen Helen overlaid (twice) with the Uwharrie Stables property. Should give a decent idea of the scale difference. Keep in mind that Glen Helen has table tops and stuff, but overall it's fairly flat. NC 109 is barely visible in the bottom left corner of the image.

I thought there was a ground clearance rule somewhere, drive over the 10" block. I'm thinking the smaller tire would make up for crappy 3.55 gear ratios.
 
that bodywork does look good!! i was thinking of using stepside "splash" style skins on the bed if it progresses that far!! :cool:
 
We have 6 trucks already purchased up here. All of them are 93-96's, 3 are stripped, 1 is "finished", 1 is being stripped and the 6th is hanging out on a trailer for now....
 
hmm, this might yet bring me out of retirement
 
There has been some very interesting developments today!

On late notice, a small group of us were able to meet with Lee today, to talk about tracks,bro-lites,4x4's and RACING!

I think everyone is going to love what we came up with.
Hoping to post some pics and share our ideas here in just a bit. It's time to start buying those Ford Rangers!!
 
Looks like we've got a pretty good local venue to race these things now. Even has lights so we can do a night race. After today I feel like this thing is starting to gain momentum.

A small group of us laid out a short course style track that's wide enough for a minimum of 2 trucks wide most places 3. There's bleachers that have a full view of the whole track. There'll be a water truck and best of all a land owner that wants to do whatever he can to make this happen and go as smooth as possible.

Travis Wilson has mentioned interest in this with the future of ECORS. Maybe get in touch with him to toss it around a little and likely already have some landowner agreements and insurance, paramedics, etc. already worked out with some of the ECORS races... Just a thought.

I talked with him a little bit today, on my way to the track.
 
I been thinking about getting a ranger just so I can trade paint with dylan it might end up more derby than brolite race
