Here come the hurricanes!

7.62 vs 6.5....it's all about the B.C. baby!
worked the past 2 days capping water lines.Hopefully we are over the hump. Just got power back here at the house. Southern Wayne county had a little over 20 inches of rain so far. Roads have wash over and that is where the waterlines have taken the biggest hits.

Still. Raining.
I've shared this on facebook, it's appropriate.

All good in north western Gaston county at 3:30am. Had a good party going at a friends house but you can’t have a hurricane party without a hurricane!

Made my blood boil how a couple local Charlotte news stations said, “it was a shame how some local people had already resorted to looting for the necessities to survive”. In reference to Wilmington.

Yeah, trigger me....

Noticed the media "bias" myself...

More historic flooding here in Lumberton.

All roads in are currently flooded.

Looks like we will loose city water soon.

But the power is back on.

I drove all the way from VA Beach to Asheville and back and only saw one fallen tree. Probably passed around 200 tree crew trucks though. No shortages of gas either.

If I had not watched the news for two weeks I’d assume it was just a rainy weekend.

...too far north of the storms impact to see any real damage, the rain is there now.

Went whitewater rafting on the northern end of the Shenandoah, up into the Potomac at Harper's Ferry WV/VA/MD on Sat.
Weather was fantastic. Not a drop of rain, mix of clouds and sun....
Our guide said the water was a good 5' higher than normal. It was great b/c places where we normally would be carefully navigating around rocks and dragging bottom, we just cruised right through. Cruised something like ~7miles in only about an hour and a half.

Sucks for all the folks struggling, but it worked out great up here ;-). Now we're just due for a bunch of rain for several days.

1.5” of rain since Friday morning. A little breezy but not too bad. Power went out briefly on Thursday afternoon but was back on in minutes. Just waiting for the other shoe to drop - hoping that it doesn’t.

Got 2X the rain on Sunday afternoon & evening than we did on Friday and Saturday combined. 4.5" in the rain gauge this morning and it is pouring in Alamance and Orange counties this morning.

only 1.5- 2 inches here in Shelby with very little damage.
however at the family house in Little River a huge tree from just over the property
line blew over onto the house. damage looks extensive. no one from the family
has gone down yet we just got pix from the neighbor. my brother is wanting to go today
but everyone thinks he should wait till tommorow which would be a good idea in my mind.

looks like it'll take a crane.

Hey Tim, just wanted to check back in. What's your Boss got to say NOW? :stupid:
Murdock: I wish I could just jump in the water and live like a fish.

B.A. Baracus: Shut up fool, you ain't no fish!
So I made it to work just fine. All the backroads north were flooded, but it was fine headed south into Fayetteville. Boss had been riding around looking at everything. He says it's no worse than Matthew and everyone over reacted.

Weird. Thought I heard a generator running yesterday. We had power flicker but never lost it. I could see the houses near me on Meadow Hollow had power.
Yeah after we got power back on I heard generators running from behind my house into the night. I guess they still didn't have power.
