So I live in a neighborhood that houses are in pretty close proximity. There is a tree close to the property line. My neighbor is really good about blowing the leaves on both our sides to the base of the tree where he makes a mound. No problem with that. Lately there is a family with a very young child that has found the mound and twice a day come on walks to play in the leaves. My wife and neighbor think it’s cute. My problem is that the family comes into my yard and leans up against my car while the baby plays. I have asked them to stop but they keep doing it. How would y’all handle this situation.

I would politely ask a second time. Clearly you value friendly neighborliness.
After that - does the car have a remote alarm? Set it off while they are leaning on it.

Put dog crap in the leaves...maybe even a qt or two of old gear oil.
Nah man, the little kid isn't doing anything wrong.
Put all that stuff on the car!

‘Hey man…your kid is more than welcome here, but I politely asked you once to respect my property by doing XYZ, this is the second time…if there’s a next time, you won’t be welcome on my property and I’ll escalate as far as necessary.

Why lean on your car, Lazy? overweight and can't stand? tell them to get some damn chairs and sit in them in their yard.

Ya'll obviously haven't dealt with this much

buy 50ft of dryer chord. Plug said chord into dryer outlet. Connect hot wire to front bumper. Connect ground to 16" steel rod driven 12" into ground near back bumper. Drive 16" rod near front wheel 12" into ground, and route wire between rods in direct path of legs of offender. Once circuit is completed calamity will ensue

It depends. What kind of car is it?

go to their yard and lean on their car and see what the reaction is.
That was my initial thought, but then if they don't care, you've accomplished nothing.

I think its pretty obvious they don't care. People who are particular enough to not like it when people lean on their cars generally will not to it to others' as well.

I can be a asshole if I really need to be, but I don’t want to be. I tend to try to be friendly and nice to everyone in my neighborhood. I am the guy that if the HOA really wanted to could make my life miserable with working on stuff in driveway and wrecked jeeps in my back yard. My wife was born and raised in this neighborhood and it’s only place she wants to live.

Car is a 2020 Subaru Outback.

Not sure where the family lives. The literally walk just to play in my neighbors leaves. Then turn around and go back in the direction they come from. If they were on my property I’d just pick up the leaves and call it a day. The kid playing in the leaves isn’t the problem so I don’t want to sabotage the leaves or do anything to my car. I’m going to try the car panic button next time then try talking to them again. If that doesn’t work we will try something else.
