I had no idea Fentanyl was this powerful

Intranasal or IV. 2mg or 4mg?

I generally try to do 0.125 or .25mg at a time until they start breathing again. I don’t want anyone to start fighting.

We only do intranasal as FD EMT's. We carry 2mg doses, protocol says 1mg in one nostril, 1mg in the other nostril. Those of us who have had fighters don't always push it all, just enough to get them breathing, but not everyone has had that experience lol.

Looking at the states/cities that have basically turned a blind eye to hard drug use via announcing that they aren’t enforcing those laws … they turn into utter shitholes.
How many of those cities were not shitholes already when that change was made?
Generally it's not tp avoid the problem, its to cap it from getting worse and causing more problems, and turning attention to bigger issues.

I tubed the same person 3 shifts in a row just to have them self extubate and ama within 4 hours each time. There was a bad batch going around cabarrus co a few years ago. The good old days.
What's "ama"?

So it is your belief that legalizing F and H keeps things level and does not worsen the situation?

My comment about legalization was just for Marijuana. More for conversations sake, not exactly my own opinion. I personally have mixed feelings on that, which makes for great discussion usually lol.

I can’t in any way justify legalizing Heroin and other hard drugs.

Its not that simple.
It’s absolutely that simple. Make stupid choices win stupid prizes. There should be a registry. You get one “get out of jail free card” after that, a ride to the morgue. Sorry not sorry but my tax dollhairs get wasted in too many other ways to be saving shit heads.

change my mind….

I don't know why you quoted me because you're not even talking about the same thing...

Didn’t quote all the points I meant to address but still yours is one of the them. I think its completely ignorant to legalize hard drugs as you suggest. It begs to keep spending tax payers dollars fixing an issue or keeping addicts alive to perpetuate a situation. Let me sort themselves out. Fuck em for the poor life choices they make. Only alibi should be an innocent bystander like LEO or child involved with household of drug addicts. Otherwise, yep, sorry, should have made better life choices.

If H was legal F wouldn't be an issue. Well, except for being over used on a pharm level. I dont think many people would say "well, since it's legal, I'll try it". If you believe in capitalism the safe"ish" reliable suppliers of H would rise and the sketchy cutters would fall. There would be less concern about discrepancies between dealers because your dude would be held to a free market standard. We wouldn't need to worry about cartels smuggling in dirty product. And before anyone says it, Jim beam and Jack Daniel's never had a turf war.

When did I say we should completely legalize hard drugs?

Who draws the line and where is it drawn. Did you get vaccinated for COVID? Have you been wearing a mask? No, ok go die in a ditch. Over weight? No bypass surgery for you, go die in a ditch.

Don’t draw a conclusion of my position from this statement.

Fentanyl is not over or misused on the pharm or medical level. OxyContin on the other hand is a different story but not the whole story of why we are here.

the line is drawn by saying if you’re affected through no fault of your own (LEO, children in a shitty circumstance, civilians in same unknown circumstance). The vax has no play here and to bring it to this argument is par for a lib BS excuse. Overweight, you should have taken it upon yourself to exercise and eat better. Not one single part of anything is beyond reach for the average American citizen except to relay on being lazy and blaming someone else. Also, the biggest problem with every fucking American. “Who can I blame?” It’s what has led us to the point we are at in our society and it’s fucking disgusting. Own your choices and live (or die) by them.

I have this conversation all the time. "Bring them back once, let them die the next time"

I agree 99.9% of the time. Until it's my kid though. She'll do better next time.

Everyone is someone's kid.

And also, to answer your other questions. I did not get the vax until I had an ultimatum to do something in the army that I wanted to do so I got it out of pure self serving interest. I never wore a mask and lived my life pre COVID normal ever chance I wasn’t in uniform (because I was told I had to and obeyed because that’s how it works in the service).

I should have the right to own recreational nuclear warheads. I should have the right to eat McDonald's. I should have the right to do heroin. I should be held liable for the consequences of my actions. Any questions?

And to be the hard ass piece of shot you’ll talk about around the campfire. “You” should have raised your kids better to understand right and wrong (this statement is not directed toward you specifically just the thought process). That’s where the one time revival comes into play. If it was truly a mistake they’ll learn and live.

Understand your point. Still my kid. She'll do better the 3rd time.

Are you paying for the narcan to bring her back? My thought process is if I, as a tax payer, am paying for narcan to get used constantly for people who should know better or repeat offenders then why are we miking people pay outrageous amounts amid money for stuff that’s outside of their control? I.E. chemo, insulin, etc. answer that and I’ll STFU..

I see and respect both of your points. I agree that we shouldn’t keep bringing these junkies back on tax payers dime.

But at the same time if it were my kid screwing up, it’s not as easy to stand by that. Being the parent of a kid with a drug problem is something I hope I nor anyone else here EVER has to face and is my worst fear for my 2 kids.

If they stay interested in wheeling, they won’t have money for drugs…
