Is it necessary?

can't ya'll just get along? Sumbitch has left da room with his feelings hurt with the truth. Let's find a better subject for discussion.
Damn if he aint, looks like he took his ball too,ok how about this?? Have you ever done anything at Camp wildcat or the Fort at Boonesboro in KY?? I've been thru there a bunch of times and saw the signs but have never had the time to stop.

I guess the OP is gone, but I'll post anyway. I started going to Uwharrie 10 years ago in a '92 Explorer with 2" spring spacers and bald rotten 32" ats. The water bars would scrape the center of the frame on it, so I wouldn't say it's much different now. I guess it all depends on when they do the trail work, when you go, and how much erosion there has been. For the last 4 years I've only been once a year in December, so I haven't seen what they look like early in the season.

Can I say dumbfuckery now?

All right let's all get to Uwharrie let's find some totally stock trucks and whoever finishes through all the trails the fastest with the most damage wins lol ! Well have our own version of cheap truck challenge at URE ! Shit I think that'll be a lot of fun they should have an event like that can spend more than $2,000 and there should be nothing left of the truck by the end of the day ! Lol

This did happen in 08. It was 4x4cross lol.

OH and I am probably considered off road grandpa (I am 46) compared to rest of you LOL

@moldman05 is 66 and still learning and wheeling.

We drove to Harlan in 08 in an 84 sububan, wheeled for the day, and drove back to Kingsport that night. All it had was a front spool, a 4" lift and 35's.

I just hope it doesn't get too ugly or gets personal nasty words getting thrown back and forth, it most certainly won't answer the question , I hope some of the Veterans at least give some constructive criticism and not start bashing each other never liked the see that happen I hope it stays civil but interesting

I guess i am a veteran of Uwharrie. I have been going there since 1990. The water berms have always been there, but i think they are little larger now than they were 20 yrs ago. My guess is the USF service has guidlines for sizing and spacing of water berms based on a bunch of criteria like soil type, slope pitch etc.

The first six times I went to Harlan I drove a locked CUCV on boggers and beadlocks there and back, but its only about two hours for me.

46 and still does not understand the concept of punctuation! Shit man, I am out of breath reading your rant!!! There are plenty of trails in URE for near stock vehicles, you are just one the wrong ones!.....
But why does the punctuation have to be so big? I keep scraping my frame rails on all those commas and periods. Not everyone needs punctuation, some of us are so smart we can read and type without it!

I bet an ip check would reveal a troll account so SOMEONE could argue with themselves and gain back some lost respect (or attempt to anyway)

I thought the exact same thing, even before the other one with a newer stock truck chimed in. The complaint was just too damn similar.

I'll bet a Subaru Forester could run 3 of the trails

Them suburus are pretty tough little bastards. However, you know what the hardest part about driving a suburu is dont you?

What is with all the drama from new members recently??

I think the misunderstanding on some people's part is that because its open to the public and its a national forest, everything out there has to be manicured to the point that every vehicle being sold on a dealer's lot can go through it just as easy as driving down a gravel road. Off road to some people merely means not on pavement, and I guess in the most literal sense that is accurate but it would make for a really lame hobby. I don't believe they fully grasp the concept that in this hobby, you don't tailor the trails for the vehicles but rather you are supposed to modify your vehicle to conquer the trail.
