job openings, anyone?

. He's greedy, selfish and just not a very nice guy.

Greed ruins many people and ruins many businesses I've seen it countless times. It's a "root of all evil" God says and well, there are tons of them in the world who fall prey to it. It's a shame

. If you would, good for you but I doubt it after several months of seeing what I've seen in him

So judgemental...

In my jobs, there have been thousands of times where I would have built something different or done the work a different way, if it were mine. But, it’s not mine and I understand that. You’ll need to understand and accept that as an employee, you are there to do it the way the owner wants, not the way you want.

...if I do switch jobs, I'm def staying away from private small business owners no matter how "good" things look and sound.

So far spoke to my landlord today and he's got a pretty descent salary offer for me...

Read the above.
You contradicted yourself in one single post. This is where we have a difficult time giving you advice.

And, I’m not so sure mixing work and where you live is a great idea here. He’s got to be careful that if he works with his landlord that he doesn’t do anything that can affect where he lives as well.

Otherwise, not only would he be out of a job, but also out of a place to live.

I work on expensive toys all day long, I work with friends, I get frustrated with people and work, I think everyone does. It took me a long time to realize a good attitude is sometimes more important than being the best. Everyone makes mistakes (ever had a mechanic tell you they haven't, they're lying!) it how you deal with them. Some of the best advise I ever got is leave work at work.

That's why it's not happening in the last year lol. Just nice to know he's there if ever needed but would never be a career/long term.

Hey I appreciate advise and opinions but think enough has been said. It's no big deal, I know what I gotta do and keep doing.

So here's my situation.
Where I work, the CEO... the head honcho.. the guy at the very top - he's literally known around the world as a giant douche. He even made a career from being known for firing people on a whim based on his gut feelings. People are constantly trying to find ways to get rid of him.
And if that's not enough, there's a very real chance that, although its hard to imagine, someday he could be replaced by an even bigger douche.

Meanwhile, I just rounded out a decade working there, and aim for about 1.5-2 more.

Wasn't the former CEO even worse iirc?

Been Out of town and missed this one.

Read first four post and last four.....pretty sure I'm caught up.

"Nothing new under the sun".

Well, you had a shot at a good fit for your skillset and a good opportunity to grow.

You said no.

I'm sure I did but I'm just not totally ready for that commitment as of now. Some things have come up with my parents and they are going to need me over the next several months packing and cleaning and ready to move now that they are retired and buying a place on the coast. (I know you think I'm BS but it's true) so I need to remain flexible for a while until they get settled...they're old lol.

On more thought over the weekend, I'm hoping I can sweet talk my Dad into opening up my own "legit" jeep shop..the full right way actual business. It's the #1 way I will be the most successful at because of how I work and operate. Dream come true!! In Boone I was close and doing it but I want it on full large scale. This my wife agrees should be my #1 focus. Dad has the money so it's just matter of "presentation" and he knows how I work. I think if I present a good plan and reasonable startup cost, he would do it...I'm hoping!!

So, rather then jump on an opportunity. You fancy manipulating your father out of his cash to chase a dream of a jeep shop when you cant hold a job.

Good luck dude..

If Mr Fuller lived anywhere close to where I do (Columbia SC), I could get him a job where I work. All process/all alloy welding, fabrication, sand blasting, powder coating, fencing, machining, etc, name it.
We're finishing out the year with at least two 1mil+ projects and need all hands on deck.

On second thought, f**k all the drama.

This is what I was suggesting way back in my earlier post.
If you think you can do better business wise than the people you have worked for, time to poop or get off the can....
Good luck with that, and hopefully my assumption I can do better pans out also...

I offered to help him get his feet in the door where I work. He turned the offer down.
This is why I've stopped even trying to help this guy. I can see where everyday is putting in real, honest input and then he just shits on it or flat out ignores it. That's why I think he's nothing more than an AW.

You know the saying, there's no such thing as bad publicity. Well, same goes for attention. He's gained some notoriety on here and now just runs with it to feed his ego.

Nono, I know I can be successful in my own business, don't/didn't claim I'm better than everyone I've worked for. Just a matter of getting the startup opportunity lol.

I cant speak for all, but if I ever start a business it will be with my money or a bank loan. I would never feel right using family money to bank roll my business. Whether I failed or struck it rich, I would never feel right about it. Either Id owe it all to pops or Id have wasted his life savings.

Good thing I dont have to worry about that, my whole family is broke as hell!!! o_O

Wasn't Blaze or somebody selling a turnkey jeep shop within the last year???
