johns thread again

Smartass know it all. Talking smack like you have been wheeling for years and have a "Been there,Done that" attitude.
Bet you are a punk ass kid with a flat bill hat bitch!
I heard that upnover guy wheels a range rover his mommy drives him to soccer practice in. Young whippersnapper trying to tell the real pro from boone how to wheel. Shit I bet upnover ain't ever been to the flats bet hedvpiuss hius pants if he went well hardcore like john jeepster .... Upnover is just jealous of those thornbirds and sat Jeepster cut vem up.

there i changed the name now since the last 4 pages are far form original posting. have at it

Glad you had fun at the flats but do not get cocky which it sounds very much like you are.
i just now realized maybe i did get a little arrogant, just a little but i have my reason: before my first trip out, many if not everybody was pretty much making bets i couldn't leave the parking lot without breaking sooooo, after the second trip of lot of fun and accomplishments without a single hickup...yeah i guess i felt the need a little to shut some people up who put down my "abomination build" but it didn't seem to work lol. everyone still doubts the abomination jeep and me so i guess i'm gonna have to go farther with it on the next trip lol

You are going to need to add the build up to fully complete the statement. Here yea go...

those are not my current arms, i admit i screwed them up horribly but got another set and used those to mock up the proper measurements but even still as ghetto as they are, i'd run them without issues ever but the new ones i had to make longer so that's the only reason they aren't being used currently. so what, they're ghetto hacked up cheap ugly and horrendous looking...big deal. I'm not ashamed, embarrassed or one bit worried about them. It's my personal jeep and if you can't tell, don't care what my jeep looks like or what i build on it as long as it does what i want/need it to.

Do you really need long arms?
you obviously don't know XJs like i do. Short arms suck, ride like crap, flex like crap and well just hinder the front suspension a lot. Long arms on the XJ is like the #1upgrade for the suspension and the ride quality and flex you gain from it speaks for itself. Clearance? not really since i didn't build my jeep for Rock Crawling and i have banged them up on some rocks out there (don't know which trails) and have held up just fine. I landed on the right front control arm fist time up Easy St on that boulder at the beginning when i picked the wrong route and it sounded horrible but the "angle Iron" control arm held up great while landing and sliding off it however the 2x4crossmember didn't hold up so well, lol...it actually got a descent little dent in it but the arms are plenty strong. I think i hit that stupid boulder several times before i figured out a way to maneuver around it properly (dam rocks, i'm all new to "rock crawling type stuff so it took me a few runs up to learn to drive properly over rocks that were too big for my clearance/diffs but finally got the hang of it)

oh boy, can't wait to see yall's reaction to my extended brake lines....that will probably draw around 3 pages worth of bashing just for that LMAO. i used 16" metal line and just spliced it in to the existing ones and bent it out of the way since i had the lines already and the fittings!! IT'S GHHHEETTOOOO

So you're saying JK arms aren't long enough for your needs? Or did you miss the part about raising the lower control at mount on the axle side to improve your ride quality while moving up those rock magnets?

where do yall get this "teaching from" ain't nobody teaching anything but you guys

hmmm. only every chance you get.

actually they are but more like a mid-arm in stock length so i lengthen them a little more to be closer to long arms. I never have moved the axle mounts higher even though i really really want to because i don't have the proper tools to cut the mounts rounded like that and that's something i don't want to be ghetto with...not when it comes to axle mounts. someday when i can get a plasma cutter, i will def get into this but until then i choose to leave em be.

Did I just glance a pic of a baby rocking about an 8"....... OK I did.

Pretty easy to do with a grinder and flapper wheel. But what added benefit are you getting with "long arms" with short travel? I'm just showing you longer isn't better, but well mapped out geometry and balanced all around can be done on a budget too. Math is your friend.

if you haven't noticed LOL, grinder and cutting/measuring isn't always my best friend. (referring to the picture of those ghetto 3 times cut arms lol). ADD gets the best of me sometimes so i stay away from some stuff. i have greatly improved my travel in the front as of a week ago and plan on improving it even better over time (rid of spacer, install full springs and even longer shocks than what i have now) so the long arms are for that reason too. plus as long as i've been tinkering with XJs, long arms make a huge difference in general when you've had/gone through as many as i have.

go ask any XJ fanatic who switched from short arms to long arms and they will tell you the same thing....night and day difference and will never own short arms again!

btw, that's just it with the Jeep XJ...long arms put the arms on a lifted jeep closer to better angle than short arms. u ever seen short arms on a 6"lift...they are way out of geometry compared to stock so long arms running back to the crossmember puts them at a closer parallel angle with the ground like factory to get as close to factory angle as possible. For street driveability this is a MUST if you want a XJ to ride halfway descent lifted up that high or higher but for off road only, short arms do the job ok i guess but for me, why not. it's no money involved for me, just time and practice

That's with any linked suspension. Everything I said went well over your head

There has to be some trampoline material in here somewhere???
you think i'm lying but if enough people had several sets...i would def make another exo cage out of them for body protection and looks cool. so laugh all you want...i still loved the way that jeep looked. to each their own right.

where's that picture that someone posted of the guy screaming "Hide Yo Trampolines"

Rockers strugglin:

URE can be difficult for some...Sorry Nick, I'm late to this party too. Lol.

I have nothing to add except for a rebuttal video of Calvin at the Gulches when it was dry as a popcorn fart.

well while these pages have been fun/interesting/and mumble jumble as usual...in all seriousness I really would love to wheel around with some of you guys on the next trip if ya'll make it down. no bs, no flaming, no bashing, no pissing contests, no dogging, no laughing at....let's all just get along for a change and do what we are all there to do: FourWheel and Have fun and motivate each other through the trails, spotting one another, guiding each other, helping when needed and inspiring each other to go that extra mile when and where they can. I have to give a HUGE shutout to David with Wicked Creations for His Awesome friendship and Inspiration: had it not been for him, i would've still just stuck to the easier yellows but he took me on some of the harder ones and proved to myself what a capable jeep i had and showed me the ropes of maneuvering through Easy st the fist time which was really awesome and by the end of the second trip, He gave me more confidence in my jeep than i would ever dare to have. Wet or dry, i would have NEVER thought to attempt Ol Stumpy even dry but i'm just proving a point that because someone took their time to help someone learn what they have and help them build their confidence in their rig, I was able to not only attempt some harder trails but conquer them and to me that is what sportsmanship and friendship is all about. What may have seemed like bragging to you guys, for me it was huge step up from my regular Mud Trails I've always been riding. I hope to be able to share this kind of experience with others in the future rides and i actually believe with some more professional guidance, i could tackle even few more challenges/red trails with proper help of maneuvering tactics. Good Night to all, Happy Fathers Day to all Fathers and Enjoy your weekends!!
