Killer Weldz Thread

Anyone in this thread looking for some work? I need a welder to give me a hand. Preferably someone that can come to me.. but if it's close enough I'll make the trip. If you are looking for work, or know someone that is.. send me a PM.

Thanks!

Your profile page is private, or I'd PM you. Shoot me a PM, I'm in north raleigh/brier creek(ECGS), always looking for side work/odd jobs.

Anyone in Raleigh / cary area that can bend 1/4" plate either by brake or torch and vise ?

Need to purchase 2 plates have them bent and some 5/8 holes drilled in it.

Size of plate is 6" x 8" and I need it bent into U shape with 2 90 degree bends.

Did my first cutting and welding Thursday... Stick.

The edge beads were the instructor, the other ugly ones are my first welds ever.

Good stuff.... Try to focus on creating a puddle of molten
lava, and then pay attention to it, by moving the same
puddle down the line without ever letting it dissapear. Bet
you'll come back to the thread with different results.

I pretty much strike an arc then look at the puddle. Then you can tell about what pattern you need to run. Most of my stick stuff is 1/4 or thicker so I usually use can almost do it blindfolded. Thin stuff on stick takes a little more finesse and less heat.

Heres some mig i was messing with today while it was pouring rain and things were slow. First was doing tie-ins and second was doing different weave styles.

If you Google xj motor mounts you'll see that the ones being produced are usually stamped garbage or extremely simple. I just like to show that cool stuff can be built and you aren't stuck with run of the mill off the shelf parts.
