Stay tuned, going back in the morning for recovery hopefully

you came down from the mountain to hunt in apex? do you need a dog to find him?
Nope, instead of the blood trail producing more blood it started getting smaller, drops here and there and then the blood just FREAKING STOPPED, had two beagles on the trail and they stopped when the blood stopped
We combed the entire area looking for hair, more blood, or white bellys
Hopefully it was a flesh wound and he didn't bleed internally
He was living there, so we are going to check cameras for the next couple days and see what happens

The doe I shot Friday morning didn't leave a drop of blood until she fell over about 60 yards from where I shot her; she was hit through both lungs & I missed the heart by 3". I saw which way she was running, but couldn't find any trace until I saw her head & ears through the brush....strangest thing I've ever seen. Shot with a .270 Winchester Deer Season XP that usually leaves a nice blood trail. I think I may take a page out of my brother's book and aim for the neck to drop them in their tracks.
I'm off tuesday if you want extra help trying to find him PM me.
I've helped more than a few peeps try to find deer they shot w .270s under 100 yrds and we never found some of them. We did find a couple that the bullet failed to expand and the exit was the same as the entrance w not much damage inside the deers lungs at at all, just a hole poked through them and no blood at all on the ground anywhere but where they fell. Another left a big chunk of bone, some meat and blood splatter, but the trail went clean after 150 yrds.

Saw this on the YouTube and figured I'd try it. $1.50 deer feeder.
Step 1: screw peanut butter lid into tree.
Step 2: cut bottom off of peanut butter jar.
Step 3: screw jar onto lid.
It was pretty extensive and labor intense.
I've got to throw a camera out and see what's moving. That is crack for deer, coons and bears

This is exactly what happened to me. I've already swapped ammo, but all the family freezers are full so I may not get back in the woods this year to see how it does.I've helped more than a few peeps try to find deer they shot w .270s under 100 yrds and we never found some of them.
