Im still unclear whether she was hit in the road or in the yard, which seems like really shitty journalism. If you’re driving down the road at 50 or 35, and a kid who was on the sidewalk jumps in front of you, there’s no time to react. If you run off the road and hit a kid playing in their yard, that’s a whole nother story. Yeah, he probably did some asshole stuff in the aftermath, but that doesn’t change the facts of the case.

My thoughts as well. Him being a asshat doesn’t make him guilty of bigger crimes. Look at all the nice apologetic people who would eat you. And seems the aggravating factor to charge is a “witness” who seen him doing 15 over. I’m guessing they had a radar while watching the kids across the street. It’s a sad situation no doubt though.
 
also wtf is a charge of "failure to reduce speed'? What crime is that, besides just anotehr random thing to tack on to ensure something-or-other sticks

I just read about 10 different articles. Most are the exact same words. One said she was playing near the sidewalk, no clue which side. One says he claimed she jumped out in front of him. A couple said he had drug paranelpla in the car. Nothing more.

Observe a pending problem and not react to it. ?? every dash cam video has a driver cruising along while to road in front of them catches fire then they wonder why the got involved.
