Lots of interesting news today

Looks like they were a full service operation.
Once you're over a certain level you might as well go all out. The difference between 100 years in prison and 200 is.... not important.

Although one could argue increasing the breadth of your customer base also increases your exposure to the popo

I didn't know the family, I talked to them day they the died. I did'nt know about the crash till the other day. It's killing me, maybe if I talked to them for 30 sec/ minute they could be live:(

Yea...any number of things could have changed the outcome

mainly, the justice system that we pay handsomely for could have not been so weak and incompetent and done its job.

how anyone respects the system and blindly just keeps paying and agreeing for more tax payer funds to be given to the completely broken system is beyond me. they don't care about 'you', won't protect 'you' and in fact will blatantly work against your best wishes.

sad

One shot. One kill. Captain America strikes again, lmao.

These economic impact figures are laughable at best. I would love to know how exactly they calculated this one

"The Lufthansa flight is expected to have an economic impact of approximately $3.3 billion in North Carolina over the next 25 years."

Especially considering all it will do is take pressure off the flights already going direct from Charlotte to Germany. Of course Raleigh doesn't realize that Charlotte is in NC, so I guess it makes sense.

We're talking $365,000/day for 25yrs worth of "impact". I feel like they are counting a whole lot of airfare passthrough dollars as "impact".

Don't forget that you can include inflation.
If the Impact is constant and consistent and inflation is an average of 3% (  ) then this year it is $1.0m, next year it is $1.03m, then $1.030900, etc etc. In year 25 it's $2.032794m.... for a total of $36.46 million smackers! You get an average of $450k per year for free just because the dollar is worth less!

But yeah... there's a lot of ways to capitolize on fuzzy math :D

Oh y'al gon' love this one.
From a peer reviewed journal:
"Size Matters? Penis Dissatisfaction and Gun Ownership in America"
BLUF: Studies show that men who are less dissatisfied with the size of their penises are more likely to own guns than other men.
Or more directly - people whp are mroe satisfied w/ their penis size are also more likely to be gun owners..

Best part:
The author(s) disclosed receipt of the following financial support for the research, authorship, and/or publication of this article: The data collection for this study was supported by funding from Change The Ref, an organization that “uses urban art and nonviolent creative confrontation to expose the disastrous effects of the mass shooting pandemic.” Although Change The Ref holds a clear political stance with respect to the role of guns in society, this organization played no part in the planning or implementation of the study.

This was funded by a liberal anti-gun group. Who... presumably... were expecting the opposite.

Womp womp.

Interesting tidbit from the Pew Research source page bc I wanted to know:
Who is middle income or middle class?

In this analysis, “middle-income” adults in 2021 are those with an annual household income that was two-thirds to double the national median income in 2020, after incomes have been adjusted for household size, or about $52,000 to $156,000 annually in 2020 dollars for a household of three. “Lower-income” adults have household incomes less than $52,000 and “upper-income” adults have household incomes greater than $156,000.
The income it takes to be middle income varies by household size, with smaller households requiring less to support the same lifestyle as larger households. The boundaries of the income tiers also vary across years with changes in the national median income. Read the methodology for more details.
The terms “middle income” and “middle class” are used interchangeably in this analysis for the sake of exposition. But being middle class can refer to more than just income, be it the level of education, the type of profession, economic security, home ownership, or one’s social and political values. Class also could simply be a matter of self-identification.

That means "middle class" does not contain a certain % of the population (as seen in above article) but only that you are around the center of the distribution. And... the boundaries are higher on the top side of median (center) than lower. I can only assume they did this bc income is a heavily skewed distrobution.

Especially considering all it will do is take pressure off the flights already going direct from Charlotte to Germany. Of course Raleigh doesn't realize that Charlotte is in NC, so I guess it makes sense.
Tampa and Orlando both have flights direct to Heathrow on Virgin. They are constantly jockeying for best price. Could be good for for the the public.
