$10 mil will go a long ways to hiring people to stop fake deed filings!
Except that fine will go into the federal coffers, where it will be quickly wasted on other things...

So when are we gonna nail the EPA for this criminal level of overreach they have granted themselves. There is absolutely no accountability beyond their own walls and it is completely unamerican.Feds Nail Another Diesel Shop With $10M in Fines for Deleting Emissions Equipment

Wife's parents are in Bolivia (NC). Their subdivision is stuck b/c the main road is pretty much destroyed on either side of the entrance. From what we're hearing there is a TON of really bad flood damage. Had something like 18 inches of rainPhotos: Life-threatening flooding at NC coast from Potential Tropical Cyclone #8
Photos show flooding, water rescues and damage at North Carolina's coast, especially in southern coastal communities, as Potential Tropical Cyclone #8 impacts the area Sept. 16 and 17, 2024.www.wral.com
That is cool, but I'm confused by one particular statement. This stuff blows my mind.
Imagine being an engineer working on a device that is 15 billion miles away, made of parts that were designed long before you were born, when transistors were still a relatively new thing

"The thrusters returned to action, as confirmed on Aug. 27, successfully guiding Voyager 1 towards Earth."
I thought it was on a path straight out into deep(er) space. towards the end of the article is speaks more in a tone of continuing into interstellar space.
This. They are using old school RF communication. It has to be pointed towards us to get good comms. The long term path is still outwards but they gotta change orientation to get more commands and data to it.I think they meant pointing at Earth, to transmit.
ya.. that does make more sense. "Guiding... towards" is a poor choice of words on the author.I think they meant pointing at Earth, to transmit.
excuse me sir, but 22hrs will only get the message there. he has to wait almost another full rotation of the earth to find out if the message was received and executed.This. Here's a fun thought. When Mr. NASA engineer hits SEND on that radio button - it takes over 22 hours for the signal to reach the spacecraft, Imagine that work cycle! So I guess that guy comes it, presses his button, goes and get some coffee, "OK see you gents tomorrow!"

It will be either nothing, or everything. They are working to get this stuff done ASAP because who knows what the next administration will do.
I thought there was a recent court ruling saying the EPA overstepped its authority and so deleting wasn’t a crime again. Did I just dream that?

I thought that was one I read about a while back on THT, but it doesn't seem so. It's a shame the story doesn't always come out so good.NC man says he kept faith before dramatic water rescue 30 miles offshore
A New Bern man went overboard during a rough day on the water. Thanks to a flotation device and some good fortune, he was rescued after two fishermen spotted him by chance.www.wral.com

Yeah. It kinda makes since since everything about owning anything is upkeep, liability, and taxes. Rent keeps a lot of those expenses off the table.I'm finding this to be more and more true. One of the guys I work with is renting a house to a lady who is a real estate agent. She has no desire to own a house.
