Has anyone ever used the propane mosquito capturing machines? I need to figure out something to help control the mosquitoes in my back yard.

finding the source of them is key, I use an out door spray on my bushes and bad water holding spots but only works a day , candles dont do shit to the ones at my carport

My dad bought one of those propane traps years ago..........It did catch mosquitoes but the cost to run and mantainence was alot and it did not stop mosquitoes from biting peeps on the deck or in the backyard.

Yeah they are sucking my dry around my house too. Never been one to be bothered by Mosquitos till this year. Pretty rough because I have a pond and heavily wooded back yard that stays pretty moist all the time.
Only time I'm not bothered by them is when I'm around a fire now, but it's too hot for that all the time.

Off deep woods dry, problem solved. Helps if you don't have standing water everywhere too.

That new deep woods dry is the stuff, It doesn't feel sticky and doesn't stink as bad, I have to use bug spray to take the dogs out and I am very tolerant of them. I lived around the swamps on the coast and Ive never seen em this bad,

They breed so fast, and it doesn't have to be a big body of water. Not a lake, pond or even a bucket holding water. With all the rain we have had, just leaves on the ground holding water will serve them well.

It might help if you knew what kind of mosquitoes you had.

But getting rid any sources of standing water and spraying the yard every 3-4 wks has taken care of us so far.

Supposedly this has been the wettest spring since 1975. I believe it. I am praying for a drought.

I had my exterminator service (Bulwark) add their mosquito treatment to these summer months. They come by every 3 weeks and cover every inch of my property. For the first time ever, I can hang out in my wooded backyard without being coated in DEET and not get lit up by every skeeter in the county. It's the same service as Mosquito Authority. I can't recommend a service like this more.

Like has already been said, it doesn't take standing water to bread mosquitoes, here is my opinion

90% of mosquitoes come from larvae hatched out of water, but spend most of there short life living in or by grass, mulch, or wooded lots

Some of the mosquito companies will do a good at keeping them knocked down, some will give you just enough material so you have to call them back, which is how they make there money, service calls

Bifenthrin is a insecticide pest control companies use to control pests including termites

It comes in a Granular form, that is easy to spread with your average cheap lawn spreader, application rate is 2.5lbs/1000 sqft, and it is available in 25 and 50lb bags, normal cost should be around $1.25 per lb

now here's the best part, one application lasts about 30 days, and it will control mosquitoes, fleas, ticks, worms, fire ants, large and small ants of any kind, bees that nest in the ground:)

Where can this be bought?

it can be bought at your local Professional turf and ornamental supply company, maybe your local feed and seed company, it also comes in liquid form that can be sprayed

or you can buy it from me, and I will ship it directly to your door step

How much $? I've got about an acre that needs attention.

I would love to find where they get there sprayers from and be able to buy the stuff myself.. in the long run I am sure it would save me money instead of paying someone else
