Mikey, mikey.. That's great.. Your neighbors would LOVE that, if they gave a damn. (Lucky bastid)

mpg - dono its got 3.73s but no OD (at this time) so alot will depend on fow fast your going.. Anything over 10 is fine with me.. (its only a 6cyl)

back - dono, got a few things penciled on paper.. a dove tail back, and some wheel pockets for heep to drop into.. beyond that dono... backend is at ~36" and with a 12"-18" dove, i think some long ramps can fill in.

Any ideas ?? Im open...

rich - well its not really any longer than the F250 crew/long bed was :D ( and it will still fit fine along the house )

That's sweet Mike! I like the idea of pockets for wheels to drop into. I for see(if it were mine) haulin the Heep and towing a decent camper. I have thought of such a beast myself before. Something like that, that is built for hauling, and has the brakes and axles to do the job right. Great find!

Thats awesome. I would love to have something along those lines. You have room for tool boxes under the bed, and you are all self contained. No more worrying about 4 extra tires on the trailer, and you are half the length you used to be. That truck shouldn't break a sweat with your jeep on board. Sweet. If you need any sort of help with it, im close by.

Hey, if Jeep hauling doesn't work out you can always slap on a stake bed and sell it to a local farmer.

That truck would look good with a load of watermelons on the back! :flipoff2:

ya, I chuckled when i read Sams post yesterday... Was like someone was onto me :) Its really the only reasonably way to do both at the same time.. Honestly i dont have any imediate plans for a camper but it could pull on.. It wont be a barn stormer and probably be similer in performance to the truck its replacing (65). My thought was well im ok going slower and if so, i'd like to dump the trailer-ing..

I had also looked at busses and cutting one down, but just don't have the room to working on somthign that big. Also thinking of my neighbors :) Many trucks were just to big/heavy for what i needed and there wernt much in middle ground for what i wanted to spend...

The engine in this one isnt the greatest its a ford/new holland (tractor) engine. But ppl claim they are good/long running, just getting hard to find parts.. I figure with 40k on it, ill have planty of time to research a swap of some sorts...

I suggest you find a camper and bolt the camper to back of truck.. (kinda like making a motorhome) then tow your jeep... Trust me the Wife will be very happy :)

Plus all you do is back trailer you already have down along side of house and park truck in front of it and bam no pissed of neighbors :)

Well if you go the camper/combo, do a bed mounted cab over and a partial bed for gooseneck. With a bed mount theres not fab work to try to make a unit fit....

Woooo Nelly ! First things first.. Need to get this thing home :) (its in Western PA)
Troy think can you enlarge the jeep a tad and set it down over the rear wheels some. (as visual reference the trucks tires ar 32" and the jeeps measure ~36") That's about what im shooting for. Also considering a smaller sleeper cab. (not as big as my other one).
And honestly this thing will probably be a slug as it is and top speed will be rpm/gear limited to (im guessing) about 60. The reason I jumped on this was it has low miles and a super clean cab and a solid driveline/platform. Many others have been 200k+ and seemed to sceary for me to hop into. I don't know anyone whos into this stuff and would help me out if I got in over my head.. So with 40k and new tires all around, it seemed like a good way for me to step into a larger truck without immediate things to deal with. If i knew more about this stuff I'd probably be more comfortable with a cheeper project.. And I'm sure ill need to do some swaping of parts down the road and the best thing is the truck is just big enough to have a simple straight rail so parts swaping is very easy. And the dog house in the cab is big enough to even take a DT466 :D

Man, that is just awesome, you won't be sorry. Even if you decide to sell it, with the low miles it will go fast.

You need to down-size the jeep a little, look at the size of the wheels/doors, and the huge head.

Not according to

I based it off the tires needing to be bigger than the trucks
