where? lol

excellent build!

i dont consider it cutting it up i see it as rust removal lol

the windows roll 95% down, that was my limit on what i could cut off. i wanted to cut more but banging my elbow in the window was not what i wanted.

ah the shackle angle, well honestly i got tired of messing with it lol. i can still switch the hangers left to right etc etc and get them a lil more straight. buuut this thing is more of a droop style suspension than compression. so iam going to run it and see what happens. hey iam a rookie lol

I know your probally going to be getting to it, and hopefully posting some pic's of it, but how are you going to tie the new boat sided rocker into what's left of the floor pan? I would love to see a before & after picture from sitting in the driver's seat looking down at the floor board.

I'm no welder, but how did you get the weld hot enough for that heavy gauge steel slider & not burn through the sheet metal? Sorry for the noob question...

yea ill post detailed pics of the floor. right now iam waiting on a good deal on material. i wont cut the floor back untill the supports from the frame to the slider are in place. tack weld the floor around the bracing and trim the excess floor back to the bracing. ill slope the floor from the inside of the slider across the bracing to the original flooring. hope that makes sense..

but as for the welds my method was i got a good bead building and let it puddle up into the sheet metal, when the sheet metal turned red i stopped, kinda like a long tac weld process. but its really easy to have a burn through.

bad place for battery. Otherwise looks badass.

Basically all you do in put all your heat into the heavier gauge and work to the sheet metal. Or at least thats the way I do it.

Are those sliders braced anywhere else other than the sheet metal it's welded to?

The batt just happens to be setting the. Lol both bats will go in the tool box

They will be braced from the frame just no pics of that yet

i actually do have a update or two. moved forward on the boat sides. used 1/4 wall 2x3 tube and 3/16 plate steel. i drilled and tapped the tube thats why i chose such a heavy wall on it. lots of details left but for now here ya go..

i finished cutting the tubing today and welded up the passenger side. and i figured it was about time to see what the fender was going to look like. so it got the chop.

hasnt been much to update lately. i guess i got a lil burned out on it. i got back in the mood this week and started back. going to finish the sided but broke my last tap. so i moved on to the bed sides and trimmed the bottom where i cut it with 1/8" angle as well as the rear section behind the tire and below the tail light. nice and stiff now. and i scored two ne 38 12.5 16.5s. not exactly what i wanted but a good deal is a good deal.....
