N.O. Limit Offroad Rock Crawl and Mud Bog 7-26-08

ehh one lane hows that gonna work out? ill have to say from mudd bogs iv seen with one lane it didnt work out too good at all for the smaller trucks and seemed to be a waste of 25 bucks for them:popcorn: its not all that fun hittin a hole fast and boggin down 15 foot into it becasue other trucks already wore it out

I understand your point, and to avoid this, small trucks/tires will go first and between classes the pit will be leveled off.

This event is gonna be the start of something big and lasting..not to mention close by.
I hope to see a ton of wheelers there, giving support to Uwharrie Adventures. Trust me folks, over time, Johnny will do what ever it takes to cater to this crowd. There are talks of building a track to race on. Maybe some sort of cross training type of track, with mud rocks, speed, technical sections, obstacles...you name it. Thats a lot of land and this could be great. We just gotta show up and support it.

Johnny is very committed to doing the right things to make a good show and place to race. I am the guy doing the dozer work, and he has been very concerned with all aspects of this whole deal, for everyone involved.

We're gonna go down there probably today and do more work to the track, and I might take some pics and post them so ya'll can see what is happening. We had some rain last night and their calling for more this evening. We need the water for the mud pit, sorta dry the last few weeks. It's looking real good too! (not because I'm doing the work either!)

I might have to keep the ole bronco after all, this might be the first time in while i been even a little bit excited about 4x4 anything i just got burnt out on it the past few years but this event could turn that around we'll see

We had a blast at the competition in May and we are even more excited about the one on July 26th. Don't sell your Bronco yet.....give it a go at the race or just come out and watch the fun!

This is going to be a blast. Everything is coming along very well. We moved some rocks and pipe around to fill in some gapping holes. Nick made it over the top, so That makes 3 of us to make it over. Owen, Nick, and Brandon. I am sure there are others that can make it, you just have to have the BALLS to try. For the Rock Crawl Comp there will be three different classes. 35" tires and below, 40"-36", and 42" and up. Don't be afraid of the rocks. There is a line for everyone. 25 dollar entry for each vehicle, and 60% of purse goes to winners of each class. So the more people enter the more prize money there will be. More info to come.........

Here are some pics of the rockpile, dragstrip and mud pit.

Wow the mud pit is a huge difference, kinda stinks the "free ride" mud area is gone but he was tellin me there gonna prob use that area for other events so w/e, as long as the mud drag it still there right

I just wish I had my Jeep working properly back during the 4x4cross so i coulda really tried the deeper sections of the Pond :driver:

You guys just won't believe it when you get here and see the changes 1st hand. The pictures are great!!!! You get a pretty good idea of how big it is when you see how small the equipment being used is in the back grounds.
jrraw...don't worry about missing the "deeper" sections of the pond. I guarentee that this will give you a run for your money.:gitrdun:

How about a comp. course... concrete (not culverts)and rocks, logs, etc.... That would be nice...

Just not into the whole crawling over a large pile of culverts type deal....

Rebar...... comp. compound tires are expensive.....

In any event, what's the object? Fastest over the top... Points deal w/ penalties for stoping too long, backing up, etc. Or did I overlook that somewhere?.. And Purse is 20% of the total to each winner in the (3) divisions?

jjraw, you planning on going down? we are thinking about it, it kinda sucks because i cant get off work and it would probably be like 5 pm or so before we could get there.:shaking:

You guys don't have to worry about the Rebar anymore. We listened to you all from our comp. in May and took care of it.

The object is Can you make it over and if so, who did it the fastest???
You can direct your question about the payout to Nick and Owen with N.O. Limit

Yea I'll be there, I don't know when the unlimited class will be going, I know the general idea is to do like part of one mud class, then part of one Rock krawl class starting with the lower classes first, and back and forth till were done, depends on when exactly things are gonna get started I guess. Unfortunately I'd say to just call me when you get off work to see if you have time to get your rigs down but my cell phone doesn't really work out there . . . .

Owen was tellin me things were gonna get going in the morning 8 to 10ish but they weren't exactly sure when yet, but the idea was to be done before dark, which might be too early for ya'll to get out there, idk.

Jackie does what I just said about the timeline for the day sound about right?

Gates open at 8:00 and I would assume you are correct in that we will be started by 10:00 for the competition. Do any of you know how many people plan on competing??? We didn't do a pre-registration, so I would say if you are planning on racing, be here before 10:00 if possible so we can size things up. We are open to suggestions for how everyone racing wants it to work. This is for you guys, so just tell us what you would like to see done and we will try and make it work out for everyone.

Drag Strip

I just had to tell you all how exciting today has been here for us. We have some people working really hard to get everything cleaned up for the 26th, and today we had a wonderful group come out and do some practice runs on the Drag Strip to help us finish it off right. I really want to say a special thanks to Greg and his friends for all of their efforts to help us make this a success!! Thanks a bunch!!!

ill be there to enter the crawl. guys there have really been a BUNCH of changes made since the last event...come out and help this area grow. a little support and this could be a really good place for the offroad community.

I think you may need a few classes in the mud bog based on tire size. Do you expect any pro trucks? Is there any way of washing off the trucks? If the mud pit is very tough to get through you will need a good tractor for pulling rigs out. At the last event I do not think there was much consideration for getting trucks out.

I see on the flyer you are using a picture of Porky Sellers from the Lee County Mud Pit. He actually broke his own word record this month. It was crazy fast.
