N.O. Limit Offroad Rock Crawl and Mud Bog 7-26-08

I think you may need a few classes in the mud bog based on tire size. Do you expect any pro trucks? Is there any way of washing off the trucks? If the mud pit is very tough to get through you will need a good tractor for pulling rigs out. At the last event I do not think there was much consideration for getting trucks out.
I see on the flyer you are using a picture of Porky Sellers from the Lee County Mud Pit. He actually broke his own word record this month. It was crazy fast.

Yea there will be a few classes based on tire size, idk weather there gonna do two classes like last time or more than two. I could be wrong but from what I heard they are expecting pro trucks which sucks for me cause of my mods i get stuck in there class but my Jeep, while badass :driver:, is nowhere near there level . . . but i don't care, I just like getting muddy

They have equipment to get the rigs out, the setup is totally different now so recovery should be much easier and quicker.

I hope Porky isn't actually gonna be there or I'm gonna get absolutely handed :handed:

oh wait, I hope he is there cause I wanna say I've raced against the world record setter

Johnnie has a boom pole for his 4X4 JD tractor, that we made. It has a hydraulic winch to pull with, if the tractor by itself doesn't do it. I'll post some pics maybe in a day or two.

I actually think we have enuf room for a small tire pit on the other side of the strip. Is it really that important to have 2 pits? Let's get a concensus going on here to see whether it's worth doin' on not. If it is, I'm sure we can find a way!! I personally think we need two, as my truck has 31" tires!

it sucks i have to work, was planning on coming down later that day, but it would be like 5pm before we could get there. it sounds like it will be over before we could get there.

Yea i know, sucks, at first i thought it was going to be more of an afternoon/night type event but idk if they have the lighting and whatnot to do it at night, night events are def cool thou, but yea they want to do it during the day so I don't think there will be much left by the time you'd be able to get out here :(

Unless we have an absolutely huge number of rigs sign up that it makes it last that long :driver:

Btw: thread hyjack but Eric you aughta go ahead and post up your august bog in the events section, I'm def plannin on coming

Washing trucks

mrrpm answered the question about pulling out trucks, and yes, we will have a place for you to wash the mud/dirt off your trucks.

Any Idea on the rock crawl comp setup? Cones?, timed event?, point system? I saw the rock setup there for the Uwharrie cross comp,(any changes) Interested in competing just want to get an idea.. thanks pj

This is going to be a blast. Everything is coming along very well. We moved some rocks and pipe around to fill in some gapping holes. Nick made it over the top, so That makes 3 of us to make it over. Owen, Nick, and Brandon. I am sure there are others that can make it, you just have to have the BALLS to try. For the Rock Crawl Comp there will be three different classes. 35" tires and below, 40"-36", and 42" and up. Don't be afraid of the rocks. There is a line for everyone. 25 dollar entry for each vehicle, and 60% of purse goes to winners of each class. So the more people enter the more prize money there will be. More info to come.........

PJ,
I sent an email to N.O. Limit so that they would see the post and get a specific answer to you. The above quote is all I had to pass along to you. I do believe it is going to be a timed event for each class.

Bring something for your Bum

I wanted to give you all a heads up that are planning on coming to our event. You may want to bring some chairs to sit in or a blanket for the ground. We do not have our bleachers yet, but are getting some for future events, we are also going to put in some lights so we won't be limited to only daylight hours.

Def a good idea on the lights, night time events are always fun, plus its not as hot at night :driver:

I think Johnnie's gonna let a few trucks in the pit on Sat to test it out and mix the mud up a little! Maybe some of ya'll can come & help him out.

Come on down Rick, we'd really like to see that thing run, especially since you didn't get to the first time. I'm gonna try to talk Johnnie into having the pull back tractor ready so whoever comes can hit it, get pulled back, and hit it again. We need to try out the winch too, as we haven't tried it out real good yet. Were really hoping to have everything ready for the race on the 26th.

Did owen and Nick get back yet?

Yea I might have to, Its still not @ 100%, havin engine/tuning issues, but at least its working in forwards :shaking::lol:

Yea Nick and Owen Just got back yesterday, I don't think either of them will go throu the mud again thou, Owen swears he won't ever go in the mud again after last time he spent like 3 tanks of gas with my pressure washer and still had mud everywhere

I shoulda mentioned this thread when I talked to Nick yesterday, I forgot

Sorry for the late response. We had to go to Vegas for some business. As for the questions about the rock crawl comp. There will be the three classes that I mentioned before. Yes there will be helmets required. Any motocross, skating, bicycling, helmet allowed. This will be a timed event as well as points. 10 min time limit, 60 points max. There will be cones which will be 10 points each cone. that means if you hit a cone thats 10 points. once you hit a cone that cone is gone. sitting still for more than 4 seconds will result in 1 point. Backing up will result in 1 point, each time you put it in reverse. Whenching will cost you 35 points. You do not have to have a spotter but if you do have a spotter and the spotter rides in the vehicle with you you will receive -10 points. If the spotter exits the vehicle you do not get the -10 bonus. The spotter CANNOT touch the vehicle for any reason, but you can use a strap. This is like a golf score the lowest score wins. If there is a tie we go to the clock time.
