NC4X4 Hunting and Fishing

I hope you can find out the story on it. I have heard of people propping a gun up on a tree after shooting a deer and being so amped they forgot it and couldn't find it later.
Well, nobody in the family knows anything about it so I'm thinking it was a trespasser or somebody threw it out on accident (people used to dump trash on this part of the property). The only markings I can make out are 'MADE IN USA' & 'BRKLYN, NY' so I'm thinking it could be a Henry Rifle? Going to hit it with a nylon brush & some more oil and might hit it with electrolysis since it would be cool to get it functioning again.

Stumbled on this walking into the field this morning...22lr lever action. Going to clean it up & hang it on the wall.

Prolly some coon hunter. We have lost a few .22 rifles over the years. Leave a tree and get back to the truck or home and realize the other person or persons didn't grab the rifle. Sometimes we found them sometimes we didn't.

T minus 36 hours! Sprayed my camo & boots with permethrin & did a final check on the crossbow. Dont judge me on aiming at different bullseyes... carbon bolts are too expensive!

Well season can only go up. Left my boots outside last night had to dump the water out of them this morning before putting them on. Got up to hunting height in a cluster of pines to only find out i needed to be one tree over. Sitting here getting rained on now and not seen anything yet.

That's not the hunting story I came here looking for. But it is the most typical hunting story for me.

All the guys I hunt with made a bet on case of beer per person first one to take one on game lands wins. 9 cases on the line, all of us have seen nothing.

Cell cam is going off like crazy on some private that I almost went to this morning

Well...I got skunked opening weekend. On a positive note I found a persimmon tree on my property that is in view of my stand!

Hopefully it is not another hunter carrying out a big 12 pointer

The guy I hunt with works for wildlife commission. We are all on first name bases with the game warden. Lol that would be bad for them.
On opening morning of dove one warden called cause she knew we hunted close to her but she didn’t have a clue where she really was at and if we could come get her.

I saw two deer while driving into the hunt club opening day. I haven’t seen a damn thing since. Nothing has touched my block or corn. Hopefully the upcoming cool mornings and evenings will get them moving and feeding.

Bad day. Buddy I hunt with went to a stand to check camera and found what would have been a really nice deer next year dead on the edge of the field. No enter or exit wounds and we hunted another part of the farm and didn’t see anyone on the neighboring farms when we were out. Hoping this isn’t a sign of some deer diseases moving in again

Well after 18 months (13 longer than promised) I was finally able to pick up my bobcat!

Hollywood Taxidermy Review:
Mount was done by Jerry Casper with Hollywood Taxidermy in Albemarle, NC. Shot the bobcat in November '18 & dropped it off with Jerry on 3/31/19 and was promised delivery by 9/10/19 (opening day of deer season). When I called him on 9/9/19 I was told he started a new job and give him until October. October rolls around and Jerry will not call or text me back. I finally get in touch with him at the end of November and was told he just got married & give him until February. February rolls around and no contact from Jerry. I called or texted him once a week until I finally got in touch with him in March when he told me he was working long hours due to COVID and give him until May. May rolls around and no contact again (notice a trend?). I finally found his new address online (20362 NC-73, Albemarle, NC) and showed up mid-August and talked to him through his webcam doorbell. He finally called me back within 3 minutes after no contact for 3 months! I told him I was wondering where my bobcat was since he was dodging my calls and texts. He told he would have it done on 10/1/20. I sent him weekly reminders by phone until I was able to pick it up on 10/4/20. Would highly recommend staying away from Hollywood Taxidermy!

Good looking work. Probably not worth the stress of waiting but nice mount none the less. My grandfather had one mounted laying down curled up where you could position it looking towards the door. People would get all nervous when they walked in and glanced over at it.
