NC4X4 Hunting and Fishing

Was afraid I was gonna run low on deer meat. So went out this afternoon and took out a doe. Now back to bird hunting until muzzleloader comes in up here.

Opening day of ML for me. 1 blew at me on the walk in, but the only thing I've seen is a spike at 30yds.

Man, you backwoods primates and your bow and arrows...

I can't wait for rifle season.

After you goobers take first pick. :(

Man up and sling pointy sticks at Bambi, like the Good Lord intended. :flipoff2: :D:smokin::gitrdun:

Then you can get in on the fun!

Calling all duck hunters. New guy needs some help!

The area I duck hunted last year and planning to this year has a cornfield bordering the swamp. This year I have found that I have a couple of beavers taking refuge. In the beginning I thought this was great! Seems like there keeping more water and creating a stronger habitat for the ducks to flock in.

The problem I see with this and the game warden would see, is that they are dragging the stalks into the swamp. There is a visable slide trail that screams beaver. Whose to say there eating it or dragging it with them. Haven’t visibility found any nuggets but definitely some stalks.

This a prime area for the officers as they have trapped and banded here before, along with a preserve being within a couple miles as the bird flys.

Decided to call the Wildlife officer of the county to play it safe and keep from doing the wrong accidentally. He said that if they drag it in there, then it is a problem. Regional rep would not take a side when I called him. Seems that this is a grey area and up to the officer on scene. The county man did tell me that if the feild was to flood and the corn wash in there that it would be fine, but for a beaver to drag it in and store, would not.

What solution do you roll with on this one? Get rid of the beavers and have the potentiol to hurt your habitat? Any options I’m not seeing? Trying to keep a natural habitat while being a fair hunter.

Long time duck hunter. Id hunt it like normal and take my chances with green pants. Beavers love corn, I doubt there would be anything left to find in the swamp. We have one or two fall into grain elevator pits every year when they're scrounging around at night looking for spilled corn.

Missed a chance and a weird rack 7pt this morning. He I was eating breakfast looking out over my field and a doe popped out. She was scooting so I figured she had a little scrub following. Dang eartip 7 comes busting out of the wood line after her. I didn't have time to get my rifle out of the safe before they got across the field. He was after her

Caught this fella out in the back of my property while walking the dog
backyard buck

A 14 yo friend was hunting Squirrels with a single 12ga. He heard a bunch of sound and he walked to see what it was. He saw 2 huge bucks mad fighting for 5/10mins. The looser ran away and the winner looked at him and walked towards him
to fight him. He shot is gun in the ground and it stopped. Then it looked at him and walked away slowly!

Did a float trip in TN, fly fishing for trout, expected a bit bigger but still had a blast, average fish were 8-12". They still are not fishing the Watagua measure it is still too much silt coming off the dam from Helene.
