well since I read the post incorrectly about tire size which was my mistake.
I would like also let people know about the CNC4x4.org Spring and Fall bash at URE..

the entire focus on these weekends is to introduce new folks to the sport and help them learn what there vehicle can do.
It is open to all to attend just check out the cnc calendar:
http://cnc4x4.org/calendar.asp

I think the new club is a great idea! I know the "go big or go home" attitude, and i think its good that its put out there, that this club isnt that. But as always, we have knit-pickers who obviously cant read! Cant wait to see you guys out there!

Thanks to everyone for their support and hopefully we've got the size issue cleared up. Obviously EVERYONE is invited to our first organized run at URE for Labor Day weekend. There will be details on the upcoming page as they develop.

I believe the issue that people are having is with this statement

"After putting up with the "go big or go home" attitudes for years from different clubs, organizations, and websites,we felt the time was right to start a group of stock or near stock rigs with drivers that have a similar belief in the old time ideas of trail riding."

Kinda sounds like your against people who enjoy a challenging trail.

Our group is made up of all different types of wheelers, Most of us are trail riders, But a few like to challenge there rigs.

Good luck and happy wheeling.

While I know what it says, I believe people are focusing way too much on that. I know we have a great group of guys on this site, but we all know the exact attitude he was referring to, that seems to resonate with the proverbial 'bigger fish'. I highly doubt the statement was made to insult anyone here or was meant to be a focal point. Personally, I saw that comment and was relieved, because I knew exactly what was meant by it and knew what kind of attitude/crowd this group will be pursuing.

Jimmy, if I put 33s on my buggy can I come play? :D

Best of luck to all of you. Hate to not see you all in Greenville once a month... :(

Sure Rob, come on out and play. Just for you, you can leave the tires you have on.

Greenville is a bit of a drive for us and gas ain't cheap these days.

Thanks, hopefully it continues to take off.

Yep, Thanks.

This is just what happens when you go against the grain.

Len.....looks like to me that some people did not even pay attention to the various rigs and sizes you currently said that you/we have. :shaking:

I especially like the idea of helping introduce people to the sport. I understand where the OP was coming from but I do think that it could have been worded differently and avoided some of the conflict. Could have gotten the same idea across without alienating folks who might perceive themselves as being in a group you have had "to put up with" for years.

Funny thing is, I asked him to post it up figuring I'd piss some one off if I started it.
Regrettably the overly competitive nature of some individuals tend to put others off and that is what we are trying to avoid. The core of our group have been around a long time and are from all over the state and after much discussion over the years, we decided to go forth with this idea.

The idea is great! The manner in which it came across is not. Obviously, because of the responses above, some folks feel that you have "had to put up with them for years"; uncool. I am not one of those, I understood the OP, but instead of promoting unity it has promoted division. I'm just saying that it could have been worded differently and avoided creating division when what we need in the OHV community more than anything right now is unity of purpose!

Aw come on folks... it's over. Those of us who can't read have made our amends, in one way or another, and those who can read did it right from the beginning. I think the whole thing is a great idea, and I hope/plan to participate. Regrettably, I already have other plans for the Labor Day weekend, but I hope there will other rides to follow. :)

dang! Len asked me to post it up because he was worried he would rub somebody the wrong way.Look what I did!

But seriously tho, ALL are welcome to ride with us.It's allways been that way since i started riding in 2004.I even invited UpNover one time to fall in with us at UNF when he asked about folks wheeling a certain weekend but was turned down.So I'm not worried about who you are or what you drive. You wanna go? Then keep up and let's go.
From what I have seen in reading all these posts, the toes I inadvertantly(big word) stepped on are NOT the ones that propigate(another one) the attitudes that I am referring to. This I appologies for.Hell,Steve(Bostic) put up with me for a whole weekend when we first met and we had a blast.

OP speaks the truth:
  • Stock wheeling is a blast
  • His club intends to further that type of fun and use it as a way to bring more people into the sport
  • No one can deny that the majority of vehicles on the well known trails are modified
  • It is also no lie to say that there are some wheelers in this majority that have shown disdain one time or another when they have crossed the path of a vehicle they deem not hardcore enough to share the trail with
OP meant no harm - he did not mention names, clubs, nor trails but simply described an attitude that no one can deny is out there - I have seen it, you have seen it, they have seen it.
It boils down to the freedom of speech y'all - if you feel that the mission statement of this new club offends you then take a different path to enlightenment.
btw - 1st Post
