. Ol black duck is a freak. Caught that duck twice in the pool and got the other one as soon as the first one jumped out. His stamina is breathtaking.

Haha based on the heads/faces we can all hear this personified
[white duck: Damnit... not again]
[black drake: Ssssh, it'll be over soon, just stare at the ceiling]

The stuff I read on here...

Little bit of tech info that might help somebody else one day.....

I bought a Hypertherm plasma off of @Junkyard Dog a few months ago. Worked fine at first, but started to get an intermittant torch error. Finally downloaded the service manual last night, and tore into it this morning. Solenoid was ok, tried blowing air thru the hose assembly and got very little flow. Pulled the torch lead out, and split the jacket a few inches at the machine end. Just inside where the outer sheath was trimmed back, the internal air hose had a twist. Plasma is back to working 100%, with a 6" shorter lead.

While reviewing O&M manuals for HVAC systems to closeout a middle school project, I come across 87 pages of instructions a woman gives a man in order to find the "G" spot

Imaging scraping out a peanut butter jar using 2 fingers but with a dislocated shoulder. That's how you do it.

That's basically what we get at Advanced Planning or Schematic Design phase. The owner wants to know what that system will run him when the project bids out in 14 months, and whatever you tell them at that stage is GOSPEL.
Shoot to high? Why'd you make me give up program. Shoot to low? Now we need to find more money. Why are you so bad at your job.

yaay

We had to produce schematic design drawings for a college stadium with concession stands, field houses and toilet buildings.
We've never provided dwgs at SD phase. It's basically a narrative at that point, but architect wanted CD quality dwgs at SD
Never seen anything like it. Turned in DD's last week and vendors calling left and right wanting to be BOD and asking about substitutions....friggin CDs aren't until July

The whole world has lost its damn mind

And yet CD sets get worse by the job. Over drawn with info you dont need, and never have the info we do.

This is what luck looks like. Bolt broke in the joint which sucked but not a major deal in most cases. So I cut/grind the head of the bolt off and take a sawsall to the other side. (Nut welded to bracket ) Get the arm out. Touch the remaining bolt and it moves. Ended up threading out by hand. :D

Posts like this remind me to put grease or antiseize on bolt shanks... Then getting in a hurry to get it back together and skip that step on everyone.
