Random pic thread.

I don't think that is real.
I assume you haven't worked with the 12 to 18 dollar an hour labor force lately.

Trust me. I believe every last bit of it.

Dude in Asheville shared this...
These are all different people and supposedly 100% real....

we fawked if shit dont change
If there are so many jobs paying more than $16/hr and/or offering signing bonuses, why haven't any of these people taken one of those jobs? But conversely, how long does a business let that $16/hr job sit unfilled before raising the rate? I feel the labor market is reaching a standoff that won't be good for either side. But I'm just a dumbass firefighter, not an economics major lol.

Better than FF hourly rate!

I think y'all might be looking at it a little wrong. The validity isn't in the "others pay and bonus programs". The factual part is the absurdity that these folks come to the work force with. What ever grape vine they are coming from is like a parisite on a dog pecker.
These folks truly believe the b.s. that is here say or even factual for say: head hunters in management or the like hiring for key positions. But they float in a world of snowflake glitter and studded Ass perches and truely believe the unskilled labor force is treated the same.

You know the folks with enough piercings to upset radio waves but don't understand why they can't get hired as the face of some major marketing firm.

Strange... i live in the Asheville area..... I didn't get a signing bonus.... I don't have a company car... did I go about this all wrong?
i had one of our laborers ask me for a raise the other day.... when i had to drive from our office to the jobsite because he left his tools in a truck on the yard.... i told him maybe if i didnt have to bring him tools like his mommy did we could talk about a raise.

There are no such places.

These places only exist on places like Reddit and Imgur where 12-24yr old shitheads sit ALL DAY and complain about how horrible their life is because BOOMERS are taking up air, resources, and THEIR RIGHTFUL JOBS

Somehow they believe they are entitled to a MIN $60k job with full benefits and are oppressed because they have to pay a co-pay if they ever need a heart transplant.

These little twatwaffles sit around and moan and cry while refusing to even apply for a JOB because they are getting a government check while living off mom and dad.

Things are certainly changing. I remember when $25 FRH was great pay for a good dealer tech. I averaged from 2003 to 2008 just over 51 FRH/week (entire time average including vacation and days off) and made great money. I was there from 1991-2011 and after 08 it sucked. I was a TSM last few years until I became a Snap-on dealer and those years after 08 were truly awful.

Now kids expect 15 working burgers and some are getting it. I wouldn’t stand in the sun for 16 when I could be in AC for close to that. I agree the attitude and entitlement sucks and is indicative of society.

How do small construction companies hire laborers in this job market and make any money?

You're just trying to piss me off this morning aren't you

Well that was kind of the point. If there are such jobs, why don't they have one already? It's obvious to some people that it's because the jobs don't really exist like that. But if the labor force thinks they do, do they hold out until the job market caves, or do the employers hold out until the labor market realizes the jobs they think are there aren't?

Thread derail over lol, no random pic because I'm just sitting in the Dr office being an asshole online this morning :flipoff2:

You are correct. I guess I've lost touch with todays reality. I didn't realize applying for a job through a text was something people did. That seems crazy to me.

Are those the laborers? 😮
Yes but you likely couldn't afford to pay for a whole hour. Now...if they'll let me pay by the minute I would most certainly appreciate their "help"

Well that was kind of the point

I knew what you were saying....I just used it as a springboard to bitch a little :huggy:

no English, just englais

I'm incredulous at the way those folks speak to a prospective employer. Casual, unprofessional, and f-bombs. Seriously?
They don’t really want the job. To stay on the govt check and sit at home, they have to show they’ve applied. I ate at a restaurant a month ago and service was slow, but I didn’t complain because I could see there were only 2 waiters and they were seating all the tables. The waiter told me they had people not showing up for interviews because they just needed to show they applied for a job and they didn’t really want a job. I thanked him for having the integrity of showing up, and I gave him a very $$ tip.

Probably time to head back. Storms this afternoon and we are topless

Hearing thunder.

We made it home, storms chasing us all the way.

Loading continues, the Bridgeport fought me every step of the way! I couldn't push it into the truck in the gravel driveway, so I lined the forks up on the pallet and backed the truck up with the brake on the forklift.
Mill is centered over the rear axle, not where I wanted it, but space and loading restrictions means this is where it ends up.
