Been putting this off for nearly 3 years. One of my sprinkler heads got covered up by a house  Since we put out grass seed this year, and it's coming up great after 2 weeks, I decided its a prime time to destroy part of it. Unfortunately when we were building the house, I didn't shorten the old line far enough, so it comes out under the porch and was impossible to find. I didn't want to dig up the yard too much, so I made a scarifer to go on the forks on the skidsteer.

Even painted it sweet metallic blue!

Honestly it worked better than I expected.

I needed to find the old line and the mini excavator is not home at the moment, so I just used the forks on the skidsteer. I thought it would be quick and easy. Unfortunately after digging 2 feet deep and 2 feet in either direction of where I thought it was, I still hadn't found it.

Since I couldn't remember how deep I had put the old line, maybe up to 18", plus I had built up about a foot of fill, I decided to go about 3.5ft deep. Finally, after making a trench 6+ feet long and 3+ feet deep ( with forks on a skidsteer, I FINALLY found it, about a foot deep and 3ft from where I started.

Oh well. At least it's finally done. Kids had fun watching the unconventional digging and climbing in and out of the hole.

So explain the purpose of the swanky blue metallic paint again??? I applaud the rest of the aforementioned ingenuity however.
Corrosion prevention, duh! It was a can I had laying around that I would probably never use for anything else, and it actually sprayed, unlike the battleship gray can I grabbed first.

I was figuring the high gloss would reduce friction with the dirt.
Look man..I'm right here. No reason to cut on my wheeling skills AND bring tire shine into the equation too

Sketchy things get a pass if they’re attractive
I feel like teh wisdom here is pretty universal

Good to see you too, @awheelterd !

That milking booth has got to be the most Tom Sawyer operation ever, "I'mma let you milk my cow for $5!

Was the lift as slow as it looked? Cuz it looked sloooow.
Ha it is, but at $9 per head round trip, I was glad to somewhat get my money's worth!

Rolling into Buena Vista VA. Me and my sisters took my 92 year old mother home for a visit.

That's her front middle. A few relatives. Some were gone by pic time.

Then to Green Hill Cemetery. Ancestors everywhere. All her brothers and sisters are here. She's the last.

Reminds me of my mom. Also 92 years old, and doing fairly well, although she's now stuck in a wheelchair after breaking a hip and not recovering well. My dad was one of 11 brothers and sisters, my mom had 4, and out of all those (my aunts and uncles), and their spouses (29 total), my mom is the last one living.
