So had a shitty day at work. Nothing major, just the normal customers with unrealistic demands. Co workers doing slightly illogical shit that makes our jobs harder and customers unhappy. And the never ending management push to do more, quicker , for less cost and more profit.

The norm.

Then I walk on my deck 5 minutes ago and see this"

You know they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I know that's true. So many famous works of art do nothing for me. But nature, sunsets , frogs and ducks making a racket, and a slight breeze. When I read the passages of heaven I can't help but think something got lost in translation. Keep your gold paved streets and give me more of this.

This is what I refer to as a "Bourbon Sunset."
I.e. the only thing making it better is that glass of something special.

American Crane was there, cant recall if they are still in business. GE Nuclear is also down there. Corning also has a fiber facility there.

I worked at GE Nuclear there for a year. GE also has one of their aircraft engine plants on the same site, or at least they did when I was there 2005-2006 timeframe.
 
Its been, gulp, 17 years but there used to be a pharmaceutical plant in Wilmington.

I did a whole bunch of I&E work there during a shut down back when hot sheets were still a thing...and my company was struggling.

I've been watching the GE facility, I'll probably go after a few things there...Corning as well. I just don't care for the probability of international travel. Already seen (parts of) the world. I'd like to keep my feet planted firmly on US soil, thanks. There used to be Terex crane, but they left town and now have a Vertex Rail Car facility in that location. I had a phone interview and an in-person interview scheduled for there once a while back, but got a tad leery of their partnership overseas... Just keep swimming, just keep swimming...

Prettiest floor I ever saw was in an older house. Oak must have been stained a dark walnut back in the 70s. During the remodel in the early 2000s, floor guy must have just sanded it lightly, just enough to get the stain off the top, but not enough to clear the grain. Couple coats of poly and it had a depth to it that I have never seen before. I tried to copy that with a light fixture I made over my kitchen table.
 
Made some custom tables for my wife's new office.
