damn sure felt that way in Clayton, even in an open warehouse it was HOT !!

Dash on the work truck said 100*F at ~2pm when I was leaving Kinston.
To put another perspective on it; over the last 10 years, the average peak May temp in Charlotte is 89 & Raleigh is 90 with the average May load for Duke Energy Carolinas (DEC) at 16,800MW & Duke Energy Progress (DEP) at 10,440MW. May of this year has seen four days at 95 in Charlotte & two days at 95 in Raleigh with the DEC load at 19,400MW and DEP at 12,240MW.

Our old house is going on the market this weekend. Spent the last few days painting, pressure washing, and fixing up the yard.

Oak roots had broken and lifted the concrete walkway about 2 inches, so yesterday I tore out the old (and did amazingly little damage to the landscaping with the backhoe) and went back with cobblestone edges and river rock infill.

Cheaper and easier than concrete, have under $200 in it.

That looks really good. Should definitely help the house sell.

That looks really good. Should definitely help the house sell.

House was built in 2002, so already in decent condition. 1200sf, with 576sf detached garage (10' ceiling), and 14x26 carport. 2/3 of the backyard is (1/4 acre lot) is gravel for off-street parking/turnaround (was parking room for all my projects and trailers).

We have busted butt to make it look clean and nice....pressure washed driveway, house, and garage. Trimmed trees, did the walkway, stained the front porch, etc. Painted main den/living room and kitchen. Put out 3 yards of pine bark mulch. Cleaned carpets. Have spent maybe $2k, and a weeks work for 2 of us.

Goal is to be in the top 1% of houses this weekend for "wow", not "yuck".

There are only about a dozen houses on the market in town right now between $130k and $175k. Half those have some "issues"...odd/crappy neighborhood, heavy-handed HOA, on/off/on/off the market repeatedly, condition, ugly/odd/etc (in my opinion, everybody's different).

Definitely a seller's market. In this area, lots of commuters head to Raleigh every day, and a lot of military drives from here to Bragg, so a very large target market. Realtor said we have had an large increase in fire/PD/.gov type workers moving to the area from Raleigh because there is just no affordable housing up that way anymore.

That gets a big old :flipoff2:

I absolutely loathe hot weather....
My pastor last night said he was down in Sampson County and his truck showed 102. I am normally out at daybreak and home by 12 or 1. Wednesday I didn’t get home til 4 and I am still feeling it this morning.

Did 5 yards of mulch each Tuesday and Wednesday mornings and then either cut a few lawns (Tuesday) or yesterday I cleaned up behind a tenant who moved out and left a bunch of junk....in a $400k home.

Wife's grandad was a lead mechanic for this bird. We have a photo of him and the whole flight crew before they headed out also, but the solo pic might be my favorite.

First road trip in the new truck. Can’t complain about this mileage from a 5.0 V8! And we stopped for 10 minutes for a bathroom break and I left it running.
