Round 2: Keepin' up with the Joneses, Mud Devils and Tony Woody

When precision matters, grab the HF machining equipment and send her home.
The belt was barely rubbing itself under the tensioner at idle. Just enough to create a smell and sling rubber bits on the water pump. The replacement PS pulley was a hair smaller diameter and that allowed the belt rest where it now does.
I already had 3 spare belts (weirdo) and didn't want to buy more. Instead, I removed the tensioner, applied a little gear marking compound to the locating tab and lined up the retaining bolt. Now it'll be clocked up about an inch from.where it was.
Center punched the alternator bracket, drilled it precisely with a $3 unibit and reinstalled. Now has 3/8" clearance.

Back to work now

Hey man it’s Bryan Glover.. I showed this to my 5 year old boy who’s super into all things truck and heavy machinery and he went nuts! He’s got good taste haha Told him we’d try and make a plan to swing by and see it in person sometime..
Sounds good man! We'll have you guys tag along next time we hit the trails.
FYI- the normally docile and gentle Jody you know on bikes enjoys a little trash talking on here. Especially towards my buddy @DSM Turbos, who wheels a new Bronco.
Luckily, you know better that that 😜
Welcome aboard man! This forum is a great wealth of knowledge.

That’d be awesome!! And I’d expect nothing less than a little trash being thrown around on here… that’s what the internet is for, right? Haha yeah I’ve been lurking for a bit but you know how that works.. slippery slope

Aesthetics bro.
Ordered up a new grill, some nearly matching paint for the headlight buckets and a new winch rope.
Gonna (re)weld a(nother) brace for the RF fender to the chassis. Apparently laying the weight of the truck against a stump was too much for a piece of 1/8" stock?
Basically, it's back to being ready to kick ass whenever it's time for a trip

Another tree hugging biker with bike shorts, just what we need on NC4x4. and from the screen name a pilot to boot. I'm not so sure about the company you keep @Jody Treadway

Being a man of great detail and aesthetics, it was time for a little tweak up front
My grill had seen better days. Also, the black headlight buckets kinda got lost in the engine bay when viewed from the side. I wanted to make @MarsFab work showcased a bit, so I changed it up.
Installed an argent steel colored grill and painted the headlight buckets a slightly lighter shade of grey. Now, the headlights pop from each angle.
My winch rope had also had a long life and was due to be replaced. Ever the gentleman, I made sure to pick a color that wouldn't clash with @ghost's XJ when winching it. I'm that kind of friend.
Gotta work on the RF fender when I get time. That 63 390/4 speed Galaxie gets my attention for a few days now. 😎

Better than this guy's rear suspension

So the story here goes...
Our group was gonna hit Rocker Knocker on the way back to the trailers, had been an epic day for us.
Cherocar dooder, on bald 33 Thornbirds nonetheless, was in front of us with the hood open and his shirt off. Always a winning combo in the woods.

He had overheated the 4.0 beyond 3 Mile island range and popped a freeze plug out of the block. We donated cooler water in an effort to get it going. When it wouldn't crank, Cutler and I decided to send our group elsewhere. As I was cinching my harness, Cherodooder cranked it up, bounced the rev limiter and neutral dropped it.

The front end went airborne when it hit a 3' ledge, when the rear hit, away went the rear diff in its entirety. I sat there, mouth wide open like a slack jawed yokel. He hops out from underneath the rig holding the driveshaft above his head like the panties in 16 Candles.

We continued over towards Shipwreck and Radical Ravine to the car. He came dragging in about 30 minutes later.

I feel like at this point the prudent decision would have been to video said dooder knowing that serious shenanigans were forthcoming.

All I see is three friends, so I thought.... that went to Gulches and didn't even give me the chance to crash their party. On a side note Gulches is always down for the carnage!
When I throw a dinner party, I invite all my buds. When I'm invited to a dinner party, I bring a dessert and enjoy the company 😁

UPS dooder dropped off a box from Swag Offroad today. Working on cleaning up the storage situation ahead of some trips.
Picked up a drop of sheet metal to build an inner fender/deflector around the air filter. Nothing major to do, it's dialed in just right.
Got a TJ, JK, Dana 80 and a pair of Suburban diffs to knock out before mine gets any love.
