So How Many times per year do you go wheeling?

Once every 5/6 weeks take out the jeep but that's only cause trailer tires are sketchy so I just been going to the flats but once I can get some tires on the trailer, it's on. Its my passion though besides family so I sacrifice work time/finances to be able to go...one of few good reasons I stayed with my job...free schedule!!! I do kind of miss having a streetable Jeep cuz then I was going every weekend somewhere but my buggy Cherokee makes it all worth it once a month or so for now.

Did a lot of trail riding day trips and a few camping weekends in the college years, til about 2005, then was in never-ending project mode for a long time after and work was crazy as well. Since 2014 when I got the current rig, I usually only get out 2-4 times a year, mostly stuff within a few hrs of home, split between day trips and weekends. I have other hobbies that take up 6-10 weekends a year, and many times the club rides will conflict with the kiddos birthdays, ball games, or other family commitments, but I try to make it out when I can. I would definitely like to go more, and to go further out, but the kids are still very young and I also don't have a trailer.

About 5-6 long distance trips with several random trips to Uwharrie and Big Creek since I live close.

Like Jason, I’m shocked at how little some folks wheel. No big deal, just surprising as I assumed they wheeled all the time the way the talk. But alas, life does get in the way! Luckily my family enjoys wheeling, especially my daughter. It’s something we do together as a family. If I put a cage in my XJ this winter I’ll be taking my daughter on some longer trips. Or if I total it and put my axles and stuff into a caged TJ. Leaning toward trashing the XJ just so I can get a TJ. Next year I plan to make many more trips, Lord willing.

one or 2 day trips and roughly 6 full weekends a year to UNF... one long distance trip per year on average (Calli when it was open, windrock a few, hopefully Harlan next summer).

I try for 2-4 times, whenever somewhere local is open. And that I've got decent tires and kids to bring in my stock xj/wife's zj. Not sure if my yj will see asphalt again, let alone dirt.

8-12 time a year, most are local. Next year I'll get out a bit more, goal is to get out more and more each year.

What about this...is racing wheeling, or nah??? If so, then I take GMB and Leftovers for a spin a couple times a year. If not, then refer to previous post.

I have been the epitome of web-wheeler for a few years now. The last year I had my Toyota truggy I probably only took it out twice. Then I took a couple year break in order to get my finances sorted. I'm easing back into it, but haven't been wheeling yet (bought Doublemint earlier this year and have been slowly upgrading). Mostly I enjoy hanging around here for the conversation, know-how, and laughs. If all goes to plan, I will attend the CTB URE Caravan next month and will be able to once again claim the title of amateur actual-wheeler.

p.s. I've been keeping my skillz fresh by wheeling my lawn mower in the front yard ditch. Hopefully, this will pay off and I'll be able to keep up at the Caravan :bounce:

Just getting into it. Only been once to big creek (the CTB ride) and once to URE a couple of weeks ago. The WJ is a slow work in progress as far as capability goes, but it's a good little trail and hunting truck. I use deer hunting as an excuse to get it on some rocks. When it's not deer season, you know I have to check cameras and work on the place. ;-) My son is taking a liking to it, so that may make it easier going forward. The more I do in it, the more I find that I need to fix or upgrade.

6 big trips. Always want more. They keep getting better

Every chance I get. A few local, mostly 4-6 hours away. The bigger badder you build em, the further you have to go to do it's thang!
I have been doing this for 40 years, and have yet to get tired of it. There was a time when I had to do mostly light wheeling because I didn't have a built rig.
But, I go just about every time My group of friends decide they wanna go!
If it was up to me, I'd go every weekend!

YEah, I am an Old F**ker!

I too am surprised at how many regular posters on a 4 wheel drive forum, always offering up their opinions and so on, Don't wheel! SMDH

Just because someone doesn't wheel now or haven't been for a few years, doesn't mean they forget everything they have learned over the last 40 years of wheeling and building rigs.

I normally try for twice a month. This year has been around once a month due to recouping the cost of building an unplanned for new buggy last year.

Yeah, I'm sure he means you
