So who here got the dreaded Underage ticket in college?

I just dont think it should be allowed is all nothing against you or anyone else who does it.

Then neither should college recruiters be allowed, nor job recruiters at school job fairs, because, after all, this is when kids are at their decision making years.

They/we are allowed because it is a government funded entity, don't want military recruiters on campus, go to a private non-government funded school, and rarely you will find a recruiter there, if you do, it's because the school is military friendly.

You are totally missing the very point I'm trying to push, do the crime, do the time,....that's it. Don't try to "get out of it", don't try to "get it off your record", be a man and admit to your wrong doing, what's so hard about that concept?

AND YOU'RE COMPLETELY MISSING MY POINT. If he isn't man enough in the govt eyes to drink then hes not man enough to have shit thrown on his record. Fines, classes, etc are fine but don't put a drinking ticket on someones record. And I really don't think you are a sheep..........I just wanted to see if you'd get pissed off. The govt is crooked in its thinking and they need to decide when they are going to let people be an "adult". You are obviously an elder though and have forgotten what its like to be young.

Yea most jobs you don't get shot at nor are you "stuck" for years at a time so I'm gonna have to say thats a completely retarded argument to throw out there. I understand you are a "recruiter"
but get that shit out of schools. There are kids in high school signing their lives away before they know what a good piece of poonan pie tastes like. Thats just not right.

He is man enough to have shit on his record. What about the 16 year old that decides to throw down a bottle of Jack Daniels and get caught, nothing should happen to him? He's still an underage drinker, isn't he, or should that just get pushed to the side and nothing go on his record too.

'fraid I haven't forgot, because I can still party with the best of them and still do, if I do something wrong and get caught then I will take the punishment due me, if that's a record, so be it, you live by the decisions that you make. I find it pretty sad in today's society that when one gets caught knowingly doing something wrong/illegal/against the rules that their first course of action is to try to get out of it, rather than looking in the mirror, acknowledging what they did and facing the punishment. If it's a lifelong record, that's the price they pay for the poor decisions that they made.

Was a recruiter.

And there are plenty of military jobs that you don't get shot at and it's their choice, according to qualifications as to what jobs they choose.

You're not stuck for years, enlistments are as few as 2 (extremely rare for us), up to six, again, choice.

Sorry you feel that the defense of your nation needs to be kept out of schools.

16 year old wouldn't have it on his perm record. If he drives then fuck him up and down with a broom full of splinters I don't care, fine him til his wallet weighs less than a paperclip, make him learn why he shouldn't do it but he was in his home not out being a threat to society. You can hes worthy of being blown up but not drinking in his own home? PLEASE TELL ME THAT

I got slapped with one back in my younger days. I owned up and just pleaded guily, got slapped with 30 hours community service and lost my license for 90 days but oh well. Ive worked everywhere, even a gov't job w/ TS clearence, it hasn't come back to haunt me yet!

so 2 years isn't "years"? Cuz I'm pretty sure thats what I said.

And no I don't believe it should be schools. You can camp your happy asses on the corner by the school imho. A 17 year old kid doesn't know wtf he wants in life nor does he understand the real threats out there and I'm 100% positive that when I was being recruited I got the most candy coated bs I have ever heard. Do you guys tell them about the hundreds that die every year in afghanistan? I appreciate the military and most of my family has served but the influence on kids that young is just wrong. And wow this has gotten off topic

No recruiters=Less soldiers, Less soldiers=Less freedom, Less freedom=Communism
Then we can all be soldiers like it or not!

Sorry, but a juvenile record is permanent. And yes, according to the current law, he can be blown up, but not drink, don't like it, lobby to change it.

Yes, 2 years is years, and that's a lifetime to you, sorry.

So that 17 year old doesn't know what he wants, but you have no problem having a college recruiter pimping his school to that same kid that has no idea what he wants:shaking:

Did I tell them everything both bad and good, yes, do some recruiters bs, yes. You had a bad experience, so that makes all of us bad, is that what you are saying? I showed options, then went away, if the kid liked the options, then he joined, if he didn't, I didn't loose sleep over it. And not a single person that I put in did I not talk to the parents and answer their questions, bluntly and honestly.

joke right? PLZ

and who says I don't lobby for it and I'm not just expressing my opinion just as you are? :flipoff2:

So not even the same boat. APPLES AND F'N ORANGES

HAHA i think im good, but you could do like family guy and suceed from the states with your property and name the place after yourself!

I'm sorry, but What happened to Being held accountable for your actions?

Regardless of whether you agree with the law or not, it's still the law until it changes.

The liberal pansey "daddy didn't love me", get me out of the punishment I deserve butthurtness is strong in this thread.
If he drank illegally, and got caught, he has the right to lobby for a lower punishment, but he still needs to man up and accept the punishment he is given and move on. It is not the end of the world, it is not the last stupid thing he will do.
As to whether or not it is legal, and the "everybody does it" argument. Come on. Grow up.
I can appreciate the fact that someone can join the armed forces and protect us, but can't drink. That seems wrong. But until it changes, we have to deal with it.
As part of a law based society, we are not free to pick and choose the laws we agree with. It is all or nothing.

Im going to by far post the most stupid solution to this issue.

If your going to man up to something do this.....

Get a lawyer, and get yourself out of the drinking ticket

Once that is over, go beat the shit out of your rooomate and man up to that one...

Asshole room mate just called the cops on our beer pong thursdays, and we got busted. Me, my room mate, and one guy who stayed with us (good guy, barley know him) stayed back and got slapped with it.
Anyways, Im assuming a lawyer will be able to get me out of it? Main thing is, ive already used a PJC (had it last year, speeding ticket or some thing). What do you guys recommend? We were very courteous to the officers, they both mentioned at court they will stress that we were completely cooperative. What do you guys think?
Stupid question but the roommate the got busted the same as the one that called the cops?
cause if so hes just a dumbass.

and who says I don't lobby for it and I'm not just expressing my opinion just as you are? :flipoff2:

but your lobbying is an exercise in futility:flipoff2:

No, it's not. They are still pushing what they want this 17 year old to do, whether that be university, CC, techschool, real job or military.

If you feel that at 17 that they don't know what they want, than a "school" recruiter shouldn't be allowed to "sway" them either way, just as you feel a military recruiter shouldn't be there.

you're so right. A kid signing away 2-6 years of his life which could end up with him dead is the exact same as going to college which he could leave at anytime and has lil to no risk. I don't know how I missed the similarities.

PS: that was a massive amount of sarcasm

Ask the dead at Virginia Tech:flipoff2:

Ask the kid who got drunk at college and died from alcohol poisoning...

Anyway. This thread is really pointless and too long.

Realize that you're an idiot for getting a drinking ticket, pay a lawyer, get out of it best as you can, and dont' get caught again.
