The Green Jeep - 94 YJ Sahara

Veterans ride at URE was a good quick day trip. It checked the box of my annual reminder as to why people suck and this hobby is way too open to anyone with a +600 credit score. 😂

Even caught the elusive boss of NTKFabworks taking a break behind the YJ while we waited for the trail to clear.

It’s rare I run the YJ on the street but I did learn that 50mph is about all the current full hydro setup likes according to GPS. She’s a little vague after that.
The tailgate must only be like 27" off the ground

Winter fixes piled into one weekend:

Threads have been messed up in the belly pan mounts for a while. The passenger side was fine but two of the three on the drivers side liked to always work loose. Got them ground out and replaced with the Barnes inserts.

Back during my trans mount fiasco two years ago, we “fixed” it at gulches on the trailer but since the belly pan was off I retapped the holes in the transmission for 7/16 bolts. I still might pull it back off and make some tabs to tie into the front holes too.

Had a chase bar laying around so why not.

I ran a set of MORE boomerang shackles on the front of my old YJ and for all the years I beat on that thing it never inverted a shackle or even tried to bend a spring. May be a cheap easy upgrade worth looking into.

Oct 2024-March 2026. Thanks for the motivation @Hokie_YJ 😂

Fresh harnesses, racecar lights then parked the shitbox outside to start deep cleaning the shop from a winter of tractor and jeep repairs.

Thought it looked familiar. I drop down from #8 to go to Mt Airy for jobs frequently. That hwy is a little sporty in a severely overloaded 4th gen, lol

As a fella who runs a severely overloaded 4th gen up and down that road, can confirm 😂

Started packing up for this weekend and got irritated by all the bungees and straps holding stuff in the cargo area. Cooler broke loose a few trips ago and broke the terminals off the fuel pump. Easy fix but just sucked to do it in the middle of the trail.

Pack out will hold tools and miscellaneous stuff, cooler will go on top. It protects the fuel pump and leaves enough room for the recovery gear to slide down each side and not fly around but be easily accessible. Threw a new bikini top on too since the old one was having to be ziptied in place.

Did those inserts come out after you ground the tacks or did you have to beat em out
