The proud parent thread.

My son made all conference

Come down to Florida for a long weekend to see the offspring that we abandoned. Only to hear two of them say; My brakes squeal, My brakes are squishy and don’t stop, my rear speakers aren’t working, I need an oil change, I can’t get my new seat covers installed….

FINE! Both of you up early, have coffee on, and be ready to help.

Nothing better than spending the day with two of my 3 girls spinning wrenches and teaching how.

Oh and my middle kid wearing the stolen Tshirt that I designed. My favorite design to boot. But she loves it and is her Papas’.

So, for a proud parent moment, little long, sorry. My oldest son is 25. He is working at a "tire shop" that also does mechanic work. We had snow last Fri, and Mon, and it's been below freezing until yesterday. Wednesday was his first day back at work, the parking lot was icy. He mentioned it to the manager, response was "it's new concrete" don't want to ruin it with salt or, not supposed to put salt on it, something to that affect. A co-worker goes to get a car from the lot, slips, hits/cuts head open on the "key thing" and is passed out bleeding. They drag him inside (dude weighs like 325), while the office manager is on the phone with 911, he stops breathing. My son immediately starts chest compressions before the 911 operator can begin to describe what to do. He starts breathing again but has a shallow pulse. He stopped breathing 4 or 5 times before the EMTs got there, my son reviving him each time. Last I heard he's in the ICU, thinks his name is Mark, it's Alex, and had an abnormal CT needed an MRI. Hopefully this guy recovers, but it looks sketch right now.

TL;DR: My son may have saved someone's life.

My oldest graduated from App State today. Summa cum laude in elementary education. She already has a job teaching 1st grade. She is halfway through with a masters in literacy. We are so proud of her.
