It looks like you guys in the mountains are going to get some significant rain from Fred and may see some flooding.

Yeah we’re in frog drowning mode bro. We’re in north western Surry about 10 miles from the border and we’ve had 2 inches over the last 3 days and now HARD rain since early morning and expected all day. My driveway will need my magic box blade skillz after today. I hope we don’t get the wind, I have a LOT of tall oaks here.

I checked the gauge during a lull a few minutes ago and was at 3-1/4” since this morning. Now its falling an absolute monsoon again.

We had an interesting afternoon here in Batesburg-Leesville SC. Tornado warning was issued right as kids were being released from school on their 2nd day. Dismissal was halted. We're only about a mile from the school so my wife came home and hung out in the basement. Warning was lifted so she went back to the school and a new warning was issued right about the time she got there. She just sat and waited that one out and finally was able to pick up around 4:30.

looks like we’ll be fine. Suns out and water has to get to the road and still go up 4’ as it spreads across everywhere before it gets to us. My parents are “trapped” main road in is flooded the line I drew on the photo and road over the mountain was told there was a slide.

What family I've got left lives in Canton. They're having a rough go with it at the moment.

You folks in Candler ok?

It got very hairy here last night. Tornadoes all around, phones alerting every few minutes. Being in a mobile home made it more stressful. Not sure I’ve seen rain like that since Fran.

It could never flood here (unless biblical proportion) but I was worried about the trees all around us and my creek culvert.

Will know more when the sun comes up.
