what do yaul think

i plain on running close to a 46 millitary tire on the rocks.

Good idea. Then you won't be able to get enough traction to roll it.

i went back today and looked the rover over better. it is the v8 discovery. i was wondering how i could get around its passanger side drop. if the drive shafts would meet the rockwells. i plain to four link it with either coils or kings. if i did not exo it i would still want some kind of roll cage in it. i just figured the exo would help in the body damage department.

damn...if you got the cash for kings and enough for that much tubing then you should have enough to just build a chassis. hell...to exo a rover would be the equilivant of building a chassis

Yep...

Paging Doughboy.....anyone seen doughboy?

kings would be in the long run

i dont know that a exo would be ass much tubing as a full chassis with the length i want.

Put the rover body on the stretched CJ running gear, that'd be different. Rovers usually end up with all Chevy stuff and Dana axles if the owners a wheeler.

Probably catch flak for that last statement!

I guess it depends on how much you protect it - but really, a full complete exo cage is basically a whole tube chassis wrapped around the outside of your vehicle, minus only the bottom "frame" section

Therefore it HAS to be alot more tube

the exo would just be around the pilliars rockers ant probbly arount the middle of the doors. not a full. just to protect the front dont care about the back. also would i haft to use two front rocks. or a front and a back. the fronts are a little more money. alto four wheel sterring would be fun.

were is every one getting there rockwells. i know of white owl. but that is about it.

were have you been getting them

there are plenty of resources, keep an eye on the forsale section. call up military surplus dealers.

Guys, let's get him a realistic "build budget" for this project.

$700 for vehicle (according to his first post
$800-1200.00 for axles
$1100.00 for tires
$800.00 for brakes
$800.00 for hydro steering
$500-700.00 for wheels

That's $5300 bucks and havent even figured in Johnny joints for 4 links and tubing for the exo.

Dont forget to plan for the nickel and dime crap (like lugnuts for your rockwells, one set of right hand and one set of left hand).
