What have you done for your health today?

For those of you who hate running, keep an eye on Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace for a used Concept 2 rower, or any air or water resistance rower for that matter or an old Schwinn Airdyne bike. Get them at the right time and you can usually find a rower for $250-500 depending on model and an old Airdyne for about $200-250. Rogue actually has the newer Assault bikes on sale right now for $699 (Normally $999) Very unlikely to be found used, but another awesome workout for the attention span challenged is the SkiErg.
I've been looking on CL for a few months for a Concept 2 at a decent price. Cheapest in good condition I've found is $750. I can't bring myself to pay that close to retail ($900) but also can't bring myself to pay full retail and they never have a sale....

I've seen some recently pop up for about $575-600 but they don't last long. If I didn't have a gym in town that had a few, along with assault bikes and a ski erg, I'd fork out the money for one though.

Wait until about Feb when all the NYE resolutions go bust and folks give up on their equipment. They will flood Craigslist with nearly new equipment. :D

The assault bike has its own little place reserved for it in Hell. I hate it with a passion but it is an effective training tool.

F3 sounds interesting. Looks like there is one on my way to work. I'll have to check it out.
Please do, you won’t regret it. Tell them YellowCake from the Dawghouse in Concord sent you.

That F3 stuff looks interesting, but also the potential to be overwhelmed or a wooped pup.
“Modify as necessary.” You should hear that plenty at an F3 workout. For me the first time was the worst because I had no idea what to expect. Don’t be afraid to modify as necessary. If they say do 20 pushups and you can only do 10, that is ok. Everyone is there to get better.

Though I was overwhelmed and whooped, it was a lot of fun and the group is very encouraging/no one makes you feel that way. I'll be back.
Glad to hear that. At your second showing is when you will get a cool nickname.

If anyone wants to read the write up for last Saturday when @TARider showed up, check it out:

Roll of the Dice – F3 MeCa

There will be words and exercises you probably aren’t familiar with, so check out the lexicon link under faq. F3 has a unique language.

That sounds good. If I get my “get my ass up in the morning goal” set, I might look into that.

If you need some motivation, Living Social has a deal for entry fee to the Spartan Race in Concord on April 7. I’ve never done one before, but I signed up anyway. It sounds like fun.

I e done several. I liked them. Make sure you keep an eye on which one you do. I wouldn’t recommend a Beast to a first timer unless you are in shape and have OCR experience.

Scale reports another lb gone this morning.
That's 15 lbs in 13 days.

Only 28 more to reach small goal #1.

More sleep is on my short list to do better at. Quick turns on tight deadlines have gotten the best of me. Must. Get. More. Sleep.

I'm still maintaining a good diet and increased (where it should be) excercise.
No fast food, no junk food, no soda and getting out for walks during breaks at work.
Scale has only moved a couple of pounds over the last week. But it took me 8 months to add the 20 I'm going to lose.

All in all, I'm 100% mentally committed to staying the course.
I have a chiropractor visit in the am and an appt with my PLC/therapist tomorrow afternoon. Just regular scheduled maintainence. I'm really looking forward to telling her about this thread.

You guys keep it up. You never know who ISN'T posting up that is being inspired. <---- that's a low carb beer BTW

@Jody Treadway leading by example getting the mental side out of the way. No try, maybe, would like, if, hope to, or any other caveat or loophole.

Thanks to everyone who has posted up in here. I have moved a little bit extra every day this week. Slipped a bit yesterday, but I've walked a mile on my breaks today and will spend some time at the gym this evening.

Today's workout was 7 sets of flat barbell bench, 4 sets of incline dumbbells, 4 sets of decline dumbbells, and 4 sets of tricep cable pull downs with the V-bar.

Going to drop the keto and just eat better. My blood pressure numbers have both gone up and I've always had very good numbers. Some say add more sodium to the diet for that but a diet that's a lot of fat and sodium is more than I'm willing to try......

I’m a believer that any “diet” that excludes food groups is unhealthy and unsustainable.

Eating better (whole foods, no processed foods and appropriate portions) and being more active is the safest and best long term solution.

I've done pretty good with my meals over the last few days. Then, while picking up my deer meat from the processor, I bought some of his summer sausage. Damn, that shit is goodo_O I'm really trying to lay off the kid cliff bars. They are my crutch since I'm always hungry. I'm thinking like @Deplorable said above, to not omit any food groups. I'm just going to try to eat cleaner, really lower my sugar intake, and get back on an exercise regemine. I believe, like others have said, the hardest part will not be to revert and eat like shit when I'm busy and don't have time to fix food. It will just take some planning. Thanks @Jody Treadway for getting us back on track.

I'm trying to get my deer jerky made up so I can eat that instead of crap when I'm travelling. I'm sure the sodium is through the roof, but it's better than a bag of chips and is loaded with protein. I see you're from WS....what processor do you use?
