What have you done for your health today?

@jeepin' jen we are talking about doing it as well. It looks very challenging.
Day 12 now and it definitely requires planning & time management, especially getting in the 2 workouts. I've been getting up at 4:25am to get the indoor workout out of the way (typically a crossfit-style workout with lifting, metcon, & rowing). After work, I either walk or go for a bike ride. Thank goodness I've only had to walk in the rain once so far (I immediately ordered a new rain jacket afterwards). Huge thing is getting water down to prevent getting up every hour at night to pee (I try to be done by 1:30pm).

So far, I'm actually really liking it. My head is clear, I'm not as pissy, & I have so much more energy. Now, the laundry on the other hand 🤣

@jeepin' jen....awesome! keep up the good work. I'm also trying to plan out how we will do it. We typically workout around 6pm(lifting/crossfit etc). I'm planning on running/walking around lunch every day. Thats crazy you stop drinking water around 1:30pm, I usually have another 48oz or so after working out. I'm usually good with water and get around 100+oz a day, the reading shouldn't be a challenge as I enjoy it. The hard part will remember taking pictures/2x a day workout.

Oh no, that's just when I finish my gallon - I keep drinking water throughout the day/night! I quit drinking soda about a month ago so it's water or no-calorie tea after that initial gallon is gone.

I use the app & it makes it super easy to remember all the tasks. Definitely worth the $5. 😉

I started going to the gym. A buddy of mine moved back home and is a personal trainer (and bodybuilder) ,so he hooked me up. I like it a lot. Once I get through the initial startup soreness from not having worked out in 13 years, it'll be ever better. My forearms are finally starting to ease up from Tuesday and Wednesday was leg day. I'm still feeling that. I hate leg day.

Good thing the HD is an automatic. I wouldn't have made it home otherwise.

Great ride on the new Middle Black Mountain re-route. Then I shit my pants and lost 4 pounds when I pedaled over a rattlesnake.

Been sitting roughly around 210 for a week or two, strength gains have been increasing across the board so thats been a lot of fun.

In other fitness related news, anyone wear a fitness tracker? I was eyeballing the Whoop but at $30 a month I was pretty hesitant. A buddy has an Amazon halo, wife bought two of them on sale for $60, 6 month free trial, $2.99 a month after that. I've been wearing it for close to two weeks now. Good battery life, super comfortable. It tracks HR, activity level, calories burned etc. The app is pretty cool and easy to work with.

Hit the gym for the 3rd time this week. By myself today, no trainer, but did arms and shoulders for about an hour and a half and then had a steak and salad on the way home. I'm gunna sleep good tonight. Then gym again in the morning.

Had "two a days" on Monday and Wednesday. Hit the regular workouts in the morning and then the wife decided she wanted to try out a kickboxing gym and drag me along. Was fun to mix it up but not fun to double up. Ankle is really bothering me now and has some minor bruising without a sprain? It's one I broke about 5-6 years ago. I'm going to wrap it and just ruck for a bit this morning.

I used to be all beastly and stuff. (But I never could find my abs...)

Then I broke my brain, quit lifting, and gained about 60bs in depression and COVID.

I've been struggling to get back into it. Because frankly, being fat and weak sucks for my ego.

To kick my butt into gear, I hired a trainer. And because I don't ease into things, I jump in... I hired This guy...

That's right. Kris Freaking Gethin. A No Shit celebrity trainer. He's kind of nuts, so this is going to really suck. But it ought to be worth it... Bring on the chicken/rice and tuna/rice/mustard meals again.

Training begins, August 23rd.

Expect updates.
