What have you done for your health today?

Another one for good measure

Do you miss your taint?

Chamois Butt'r is a life saver

Yeah, but 6hrs and 100 miles on Gaston and York county pavement don't care about your french butt butter
200 miles in 2 days.

Taint definitely hurts the most. I don't typically use any chamois cream but stole some of my kids Desitin for the nether regions before today's ride.

Feet hurt second most. Legs are surprisingly still ok.

Goot lawt man. I've done some 100 mile weeks, never had a 100 mile day, and certainly not twice in 2 days! Are you training for something?

So not 100 miles, and there was no wearing of crocks. Been years since I did any "real" trails living out here on the coast. But took the ole Cannondale and my son's felt 2niner. Rode some mountain bike park just outside side of Boone. Rode up for an hour or so. Finally found some narlyish stuff (signage reads worse than it is...) and then bombed back down the single track. Miss that stuff and I'm out of shape...IMG_20211228_121827793_HDR.jpg

I took the last bit of my use-or-lose annual leave at work tonight. I'll roll over my full allowance of 240 hours in to next year, so I'll have another 160 hours of use-or-lose next year too. I rather enjoy getting paid to NOT be at work.

I like getting paid to polish off the VooDoo Rangers and EW 1783 I have left even more.

Also, I'm pretty sure I'm going to be sick tomorrow. Yall don't tell nobody :D We're off Friday, so a 5 day weekend sounds nice after they made me stay gone from December first until December 22nd. In other words... fawk em!

I finished off 2021 yesterday with a nice bike ride up on the New River Trail with my wife and son.

2021 was a great year for my fitness. Working from home all year gave me more time than usual. I rode my road bike a lot, lifted weights a lot, walked a lot, did a little hiking, and even started mountain biking again.

I started off 2022 this morning with 5 sets of 5 different shoulder exercises for a total of 25 sets

I'll throw out what a strava year looks like for the rest of us mortals...

Now an astute observer might notice that I got in more miles than Jody, but the real number is 110 miles, because 1588 of those miles were from my 41 sec trip to El Salvador at 139405.3mph back in June

It's a shame there weren't any segments on that route...fairly confident the KOM would be yours 😂

It feels like Rocky 4 doing pull-ups in my shed with snow everywhere. I really need to rig up a pull-up bar in my garage where it is warm.

Fell off the workout wagon hard during December. Beer/alcohol intake got upped quite a bit and put on some sympathy weight with the pregnant wife. Back in the gym today, restarting the Deadlift program. No alcohol until the kids come, lean meats and veggies, 1 gal of water a day, and limiting sugar consumption. Also will be adding some cardio in running some loops in the neighborhood.

Started off the new year with a sleep test. Did it last night in Pinehurst. The tech this morning said I was the worst snorer she has ever had in the clinic. At least I excel at something. Pretty sure a CPAP is in my future.

On the exercise front, been getting in about 2 hours a day walking and on the treadmill or stationary bike. Down 17 pounds in the past month.

MI snow biking! Miss the NC riding.. but this has been a switch up! Slow and peaceful riding. This bike is around 30lbs with tubes in the tires.
