What have you done to your rig today?

Drove the Willys for the first time over the weekend. Still chasing a charging issue but I have some solid ideas from everyone on here. Installed a tongue-mounted trailer box to hold all my tow straps etc. Time to start adding some goodies to the Willys to get it ready for the trail.
Pics of said Willy’s?

Drove home from SC...took I95 this time to avoid any more sudden stops. I started out only running 72-74, then got brave and bumped it up to around 75-76, and before I knew it I was running 78-80. I was thoroughly impressed with the truck. I've never driven it that hard for that long. Maintained coolant temp, oil pressure, and EGTs like a champ and even knocked out a solid 18 mpg.

Eventually, I'd like to do an Allison 6 speed swap. With the addition of the compound turbos, that would be an amazing setup. As it is now with 40s, 4.56s, and an NV4500 it's turning 2250 RPM at 80 mph. With a 6 speed Allison, I'd be at 1900 RPM at 80 mph. I would also retain the low end gearing, it'd be a lot more fun to drive, and would be way faster off the line. I'd definitely have to buy up some worn out 38-40" tires for...umm...research purposes :D

I'd also like to redo all of the gauges and the entire dash with something like the one that DIY4X offers. A GPS speedometer would be amazing as well as accurate.

I'd also like to do coilovers, at least on the front. I think an 05+ Super Duty axle would work well and I could build an NP271 to go behind the Allison. Then I would also do an AAM 10.5 rear to get disc brakes and I could swap the gears and Detroit right over to it.

It'll be nice to have an older truck to play with. 12 valve Cummins stuff is cheaper than Duramax stuff, so once I fix the transmission in my HD, I think this will start getting a lot more attention.

Seems like I may need to start another build thread soon because I've got big ideas that are really cool.

Quick rebuild on the T5 (I know I know but it's got to last long enough till I get the big block drive train in) and put a new clutch in.

Drivers door latch on the 4Runner got stuck in the lock position so I’ve been scratching my head for the past three days on how to get it fixed without tearing up everything. Finally pulled the cover off the B pillar and cut the bolts for the door striker. Now to find a good latch to replace the old one….

Replaced heater core in it and cleaned out more dog hair and nastiness that was behind the dash while I had it torn apart Monday. Pulled fronts seats/carpet this evening to see if that gets rid of the remaining stank. The carpet did have water under it in passenger side even though it hasn't rained significantly in a long time....thinking I want to put vynil back in its place. If it still stinks in the morning guess I'll pull er thang else out 😩

Check and seal the third brake light. Completely random but the drain goes across the roof to the pass or drivers a-pillar then down through the floor.

Also the drain for the sliding rear window, it gets clogged in mine about twice a year. Stick a red straw from an aerosol can through to clean it out.

Moved it. Need to drive it this weekend.

Finished the switches and whatnot in the cab.
I’m not that happy with how I ran the wires, but it was convenient. Last thing to do is the final terminations.

Somethings screwy somewhere.
I've started doing final terminations at devices, so far I've only made it the to the two relays under the hood. When I put power to the switches (keyed source) the LEDs that coincide with those two switches are ON when the switches are in the OFF position and OFF when the switches are in the ON position. I know the switches are wired correctly as the relays are operating correctly, but somehow the LEDs are operating in the reverse.

I think my issue is how I've wired the LEDs, below:

Currently I'm thinking I need to run the LED from the "device" side of the switch to a ground instead of running through the switch like I currently have.

Thoughts?

You will want the led powered from the device side of the switch, and the other side grounded.
